Glad I found your channel. You and I have basically the same content on our channels. Lol. I had bought a new 2019 Polaris Ranger 570 and only kept it for 2 months. I sold it and went back electric. I love the quietness of electric. I have a 72v buggy now. Again, love your channel. I think my wife is going to subscribe as well, due to your farming videos. I have spent all week working on our goat fencing, getting ready to turn our goats into pasture.

I'm glad you found your way to our channel. We're still developing our content. Your channel does look interesting too. I'll be checking more of it out. Thanks!

I bought mine month ago. Partly because of your helpful videos. Have you figured out how to add a utility basket for the bed? The flat bed is too slippery to hold tools and supplies while traveling around farm.

I mostly use a black plastic mortar mixing bin from Home Depot held into place with a bungee cord. It's simple, very inexpensive, and quite effective. I can swap out tools for fencing with tools for wood cutting. I've had ideas for building a more custom fitting bin, but there's always so much to do and like I said, the mortar mixing tub does the trick. I hope you are otherwise still enjoying the EV as much as I am. Thanks for watching.

Can you do serious off roading with it too I’m very interested in one but I need to know it’s capability’s to help to make a decision on what utv to buy
@bonesetranch
@bonesetranch Жыл бұрын
I have taken this through some pretty serious off-road trails. It's not as capable as a Can-Am or Polaris Razor but it has good ground clearance and serious 4WD. It can fall short on extremely steep terrain with loose soil. But that is on trails it's hard just to walk up.

And can you solar charge it I plan on taking it to a muddy motorsports park I want it to have good range so I can ride all day without have to wait long hours for it to charge
@bonesetranch
@bonesetranch Жыл бұрын
This has a bank of 6 lead acid batteries so solar charging would take a big array and still need a few hours for charging.

Don't play the music while showing the video. I can't hear how quite it runs.

Nothing to hear really. The loudest thing is the tires on the ground and road. Wish my neighbor's UTVs were as quiet.

What typeof battery does it use? I'd need it for longer distances and wondering if I could bring a second battery along.
@bonesetranch
@bonesetranch 2 жыл бұрын
The Tracker uses six 12v deep cycle batteries wired in series to get 72 volts of power. It wouldn't be practical to swap batteries out in the field. Better to either recharge off a battery pack or generator.

Are these good for play and work and can you play in the mud with them
@bonesetranch

I can't say I've taken the EV in serious mud. The Wyoming muddy creek crossing was the most muddy I've pushed it in.

Thank you for a video showing it running vs. another one of those almost useless walk-arounds with it sitting on the driveway! I have a very steep hill on a path with pavers (33 degree) and my golf cart skids going down. How do you think this UTV would do?
@andersnancke-krogh8974

How steep slopes have you tried? I wanted to be able to climb slopes up to 45% (=24 degrees). Is that even realistic with this vehicle? If not, what is the steepest slope you have climbed. These questions obviously assumes close to zero degree cross-slope
@bonesetranch
@bonesetranch 2 жыл бұрын
My experience is that 30% slopes are more realistic. The one time I tried something at 45%, the only way I got up was with the winch. Power is not the limit, the small diameter of the wheels on dirt is. 30% assumes not much load and stable ground. And as you guessed, steep slopes mean keeping the vehicle pointing straight up. Thanks for watching!

Have you had any issues with your EV iS now that you have owned it longer? Has the battery life deminished much?
@bonesetranch
@bonesetranch 2 жыл бұрын
No issues for me. The batteries have the same capacity as always. I do plan on doing an update video. I'd say the thing I like the least is the location of the drive switch. Other than that, no complaints.

How much energy does it take to recharge my 6 12 volt batteries? (I keep my tracker ev in a shed at the hunting club and want to contribute appropriately for my energy use). Everyone else is supplying their own gasoline. Answer would be nice in kilowatt hours, please.
@bonesetranch
@bonesetranch 2 жыл бұрын
I do not know. I don't know of an easy way to monitor the use. Its not as much as a refrigerator registers on whole home power monitoring.
@QarthCEO
@QarthCEO Жыл бұрын
The charger uses 250watts per hour. So every 4 hours you are using 1 kilowatt of power. Assuming a very high rate of 20 cents pkwh, you would owe your club about 50 cents for every full charge.

what is the battery life like ?
@bonesetranch
@bonesetranch 3 жыл бұрын
Better than I expected. We bought this for use on our personal property and around the neighborhood. Small trips at a time mostly. Haven't had to recharge in over a week. On days when we do a lot of trips up and down the 1/2 mile steep access road to the bottom of the property, I can go 4 or 5 trips and still have a 1/4 charge. So for home property use, I am very satisfied.

@@bonesetranch so maybe six to ten miles on a charge. im looking at one for hunting purposes . will run it in economy mode.
@bonesetranch
@bonesetranch 3 жыл бұрын
@@petelucy7265 I think yes probably on more level ground. I am considering doing a driving test figuring out my neighborhood road distance and driving it continuously to get a better distance estimate. The hardest part of being too remote is re-charging the battery. You can probably do it off of a generator, but my only charging to date has been off of a 110v outlet which took a good solid 3-4 hours to charge. I am working on getting a 220v outlet set up to compare the charge time which is supposed to be shorter using twice the volts.

@@petelucy7265 For hunting though, I can add that the deer down at the bottom of my property did not hear me approaching. They only took interest when I got within 50 feet or so. Of course, these critters are used to cars in my neck of the woods.

My first endurance test was up and down a dirt road that was 1/3 mile long with a 300 foot elevation change. We got 5 miles of continuous hard driving in before the battery went flat. I've posted a video of the test.
