Yeah leaving your pets behind during this storm even just to make a small trip or to go check on something is absurd! One man’s poor dog got left in a crate in NC while his in-laws went to go check their other property, by the time they came back, the apartment was flooded. He begged for ppl to check on the poor dog but it was too late! 😢. This was completely avoidable. If they would’ve left the dog out of the crate he would’ve at least had a chance! Bad judgement call all the way around! Lesson here is don’t ever leave a living, breathing creature behind in a life threatening (keyword) storm! RIP Sweet angel 💔🙏🐾

@@marykaysrescue2022 Unfortunately North Carolinians I’ve been known in other storms and floods to leave animals behind. I’m sure they do in other places too. I remember seeing videos of floods in North Carolina, and Rescue is going to rescue animals and they’re some of them are in cages. Some of them are chained up outside some are left in the house. They have no way of escape. I think people that do that one time should be never allowed to own an animal again.

Once more, I still don’t understand why the suggestion I make every hurricane season that a substantial iceberg is towed to the mid Atlantic between the bulge of West Africa and the lesser Antilles to cool the waters is never considered. Back in the 70s there was a plan to tow an iceberg to the Arabian Sea that would have provided the desert states with fresh water for a decade. I don’t see why now we can’t tow one into the usual path of those devastating hurricanes, lower the temperature of the waters by a few degrees and deprive them of some of their driving force. An added benefit would be saving a lot of the coral reefs that are dying due to “bleaching” by rising sea water temperatures. That could substantially help augment fish populations we depend on in a cascading upward effect.
