Then we get mad when our children lie to us because we have taught them to lie when I found out the truth at 8 I was so upset that I threw a fit because I was told that a man was coming to bring my toys and I had put out cookies for him and to find out it was my parents and turn around and did the same to my children and when my daughter found she too threw a tantrum. After that, I said I would never do that again and with my grandchildren, I tell them the truth. We never stop to think that we are teaching our children to lie, the tooth fairy, easter bunny, and all the other lies. But let our children tell a lie, its punishment time and we as adults never ever stop to think that we are teaching them to lie, and yet lying is a sin.

There's nothing wrong with imagination and make believe. It's not lying. It's letting children look forward to being rewarded for being good. And Santa Claus represents St. Nicholas a real man a bishop - which is why he wears red and white - who was known to have had a gift for giving. @@joslyncarter4813 One it started in Europe and he is white, a man who cannot fly as its is being portrayed, the other thing is that deers have fur and not wings like birds, the other it is impossible to reach everyone on December 24 because each countries are on different timelines. It is the parents who are buying gifts and this man does not have the ability to know what people think. Its a lie and that is the truth, imagination has nothing to do with it. It is a blatant lie and you know this. Imagination is good for building something or coming up with an idea to create something as opposed to telling children that deers can fly in the sky like birds and this man on a sleigh at that height has no oxygen mask for to him breathe at that attitude in the sky. That is a lie and not imagination.

@@priscillataylor522 The real Santa was not white. He was born in Turkey. You didn't watch the video. And that's okay, but all I was sharing is that legends have a basis in reality. No matter how outlandish or crazy they become over time. Santa is not a man at all, but "the spirit of jolly old St. Nick". Santa just means saint and Santa represents St Nicholas. And St. Nicholas the real one had a reputation for being a giver. His memory and the positive feelings he created got wrapped up for the holidays into the jolly old elf the world has fallen in love with. I don't think we should spoil that for kids especially if it causes them to respect authority and be loving and kind and respectful to their fellow man. Whether or not you wish to embrace him is up to you.
