This is gonna be bad for Florida. Hurricane Beryl hit us in Houston, and we were without power for 2 weeks. And, tree was blown down and really damaged our roof. Branches hit our cars. All of our fences are down. So, it was bad for us. We had to sleep in our car for a few weeks until we got things starting to get back together. Very depressing. Don't know if I can go thru more Hurricanes. In my opinion, this Hurricane Helene is gonna be much, much worse for Florida than what we were hit in Houston -- lot STRONGER of a storm.

Ian was the worst one I've been through, which is bizarre because I've lived in FL since like '97, so I've seen quite a few, we had 3 in one season back in 2004, we were without power for weeks & missed tons of school. And I think Cat 3 is the worst I've been here for - but Ian was supposedly only a tropical storm by the time it got to where I live, but it caused WAY more damage than any hurricane I've ever seen. Our house flooded, badly, the whole area did, places I'd never have thought would flood. I can't take another storm like that, either, so I know exactly how you feel on that. And our instance didn't want to cover almost any of the damage, FEMA was COMPLETELY useless. I think they gave us like $700 when we had at least $60k in damage. I just can't take any of that again. 😩

Will Helene 2024 do the same thing? Hurricane Alberto (1994): Initially predicted to move northward, Alberto instead turned westward and made landfall in the western Florida Panhandle on July 4. • Hurricane Ivan (2004): Although not directly mentioned in the search results, Ivan's track shows it deviated westward after making landfall in Alabama, affecting the Panhandle region before moving into the Gulf of Mexico. It's essential to note that these instances might not be exhaustive, as the search results only provide a limited scope of historical hurricane data. However, based on the available information, there are at least two documented cases where hurricanes went west and not north as predicted in the Panhandle.

Theyre using their in house model and not noaa's. Their in house tends to be wrong most of the time. Noaa has been showing it shifting west. No where remotely as far east as this vid portrays.

It didnt. Its been trending west if you actually look at the noaa forecast track. These guys just use an in house model which historically has been wrong a lot of the time.
