When someone constantly peppers their speech with "frankly" and "believe me", it is the sure sign of a liar. There is this guy I see on TV all the time who does this. He also wears this weird orange face paint and has his hair done like a whispy bird's nest. I forgot what he sells, but I can't believe there are people out there who buy it.

I went to a time share meeting in Cabo San Lucas. They drove us really far away from our hotel to a different hotel which is scary! It went okay for the first hour but once they get in your face with the high pressure it’s SO stressful. Eventually I started bawling until they found an American employee to come help to me. I said get me TF out of here NOW. And she did. We did follow the instructions to receive our discounted activity package. We went parasailing, snorkeling, and on a sunset catamaran cruise across 3 days all for $120. We never would have done those activities on our own, so I guess everything happens for a reason!

From a salesman with 30 years experience in a variety of fields, time share and vacation salespeople were looked down on by the rest of us. They tended to be the scum of the sales business. Many had criminal backgrounds because they do no background checks. Hell, they preferred someone with a little criminal attitude. I know, I interviewed with a few when I was young and inexperienced. Anyone who calls you or mails or e-mails you you should be ignored period. There are too many scams to go over here. Anyone who asks you for up front money should be ignored. Walk away. I interviewed with a company who gave a slick presentation and then told people it costs $1500 to sign up. No one had ever heard of this company before this night and I was amazed how many people signed up. But there is sometimes justice, although severe is this case. 2 weeks after that night the 4 men who gave the presentation were killed in an elevator in their office building. True story. We figured someone found out they were scammed and took their own action. As long as there are people looking for an easy way to satisfy their greed or necessity, these folks will be around.

My parents got something similar is the mail once. It said they had won a free dinner at some fancy restaurant. But the catch was that they had to agree to let someone show them a water softener. So his sales guy comes out and proceeds to try and sell us a water softener for like 3 hours. My parents finally got feed up and kicked him out once it was clear they weren’t getting a free dinner lol
