Its great if you wear a headset as you can't even feel it. I cable tied the headset and trackir cables together so thats sorted too. I fully agree on #comfyaf sentiment XD

Congrats Sausage for receiving one of those. It's the clip connector that breaks not the diode extension connectors. I accept your terms of use because I have no choice if I want to use it would have been a great joke there. Adjust the camera position to get the green lights into the center of the camera screen. Great fun with this and keep it up!

I have been using Trackir since the first version. It takes a bit of getting used to, but will eventually feel natural. You definitely need to play with the curves straight off because the default curve flies all over the place and can make you feel dizzy. Definitely set a dead zone in the middle as well. Congrats on your new toy!

It's mainly what feels comfortable like a joystick or mouse sensitivity. As far as the curve goes, remember you can only see 90 degrees to either side in the cockpit, so you want to adjust it so that the total distance you want to move your head where you can comfortably see the screen hits 90 degrees to either side on the software. In some games you can turn your head and look over your shoulder, so the curve should go further (maybe SC will be this way at some point). The dead zone should be just large enough that when you are centered, small movements in your head don't cause the screen to turn. Finally you can play with the ramp a bit if you want more sensitivity toward the center, but you really don't need it that much since you aren't "aiming" with the tracker. I have it basically straight up from the center and flat to the edge. One other thing is that you probably want to uncheck "Z" in the setup, which controls your camera forward and back axis. So if this is on and you lean forward in your chair, you actually lean forward in the cockpit. The problem is that the bottom of the helment isn't attached to your head, but just an object floating in space and gets in the way. The X and Y also control the height and lean of the camera position, so you may want to turn those off as well and make your camera positioin fixed until you have a feel for it.

I've owned a TrackIR 5 with TrackClip Pro since 2013. While the Track IR portion is decent the TrackClip Pro is a cheap piece of plastic. Mine is held together with super glue and tape. Though I prefer the pro vs the hat clip that came with it. I don't like hats and sometimes the reflective parts of the hat clip didn't work right. Once my proclip breaks I may look into webcam tracking solutions. A friend bought the eye tracker product and hated it. It only works for certain sized screens and for certain distances from the screen. Though he had just as much success with those webcam trackers as he did with his old TrackIR 4. I wouldn't do flight games without them.

I made a ton of different versions of this as I thought buying the real thing would be a waste of money, but I stand corrected. It's awesome and works out of the box and it's really easily customisable. It's steady as a rock. In my opinion more than worth the money as I can trust it 100 percent.

Hi, I was in Kosovo in 98/99. We cleared Pristina and built Black Horse camp up the road from the BBC night club. Also cleared and built the med centre there. Then we went off to other parts so to speak.

I was a Royal Engineer so my tasks were pretty random. Clear and build hardstandings for TFA (temporary field accomodation) or to construct helipads. Build hilltop sites for comms. Even clearing out old Barracks. We even dug out the foundations for a school but I didn't get to see that finished.
