Jay, the putting is way WAY better than the old version as well. I can't tell you No of times we have thought a putt was going to go down and then seemingly rolled over the hole. Now, you can catch a hole on the edge and you actually see it roll around and in. We use a 4ft gimme circle, and 98% of our puts from 4.1ft are picked up, up from about 92%. I notice that some putters still are more prone than others to not pick up, but this is now no longer a real issue. We don't use the auto-aim function and I must say the new marbles are way better to judge angle as well.

Also previously you could chip a ball in, but it would float through the pin. Now if (you can hit it) you hear it ping and with luck it will drop in. We have seen balls hit the pin and go in and hit the pin and bounce off.

Yes I did notice some cup physic improvements along with green physics. They are dialing it all in nicely for sure. I’ve never had a putt not pickup on iO. That’s interesting to hear. You should report it so they can fix it. Has to be something throwing off the camera or something.

I’ve had one ricochet! It’s was realistic honestly, they tend to bounce off far vs drop in real life experiences.

@@GolfSimulatorVideos I'm using a TM4, which does not have the high tech camera. If you recall in your earlier vids on this I remember you talking about the putting when you reviewed it in 2023. I bought a TM4 after watching your vids, and its been totally worth it. For those have have one or want to get one, all I am saying is that the putting works a lot better then it used to with this new software upgrade. So that's something else behind the scenes that they have improved that a lot of people might miss. We can compete using 4ft gimme circles no problemo now.

@ ahh. Yeah TM4 putting is solid, the key is proper lighting and smooth roll.

Let’s think about this a second. The first thing I thought when I saw you teeing it up on the first hole is. Wow that looks like Tekbuds work. Trackman gave him a job if I’m not mistaken. Started up our own channel this week. Hoping to get my content out there too. Great work as always

Of all the golf simulators it seems VG3 have the most realistic graphics I've seen. Keep up with the great content. Can't wait to get my simulator next year. Excited to see what the PGA show in January might bring. Any thoughts on doing a video of what's in the bag?

Graphics are incredible. And i really like the green heat map and contour look. Question for you is the lie penalty variable? Meaning is it random within a range or does it penalize you more when hitting a lower lofted club. i.e. hitting a PW out of deep rough has less hurt then hitting a 4iron. I noticed you hit a 6iron out of rough to a up hill green and the trajectory looked flat but when you hit the green it stopped within 10 feet

@@GolfSimulatorVideos Yes, its random between 75-85% (say) in deep rough. The ball has a lot of spin & speed taken off it out of the (within the said range), but its landing and rollout also very much depends on the slope of the green, green stimp and green firmness (also all adjustable). Need to be careful with some shots in using the right club as you mention @sinkingputts, for example out of thick bush/grass a wood will only go a couple a of meters (as you would expect). Also have to be super careful playing out of bunkers near the lip, which can catch you as easily as out there on a real course. I have been playing with 3 other guys +/- 6 games& week (we are 2.5hrs from the nearest course!), so we have really been testing this thing.

@@wasinlatamafrica3290 yeah I would say this is a good gauge. Lowe launch longer shot will lose more. Wedge in rough near the green won’t see as much power deduction but still spin reduction. Feels like a good balance to me so far, including the long bunker or short bunker shots.

This looks really good but compared to what was shown in the lead up to the release it's a little disappointing to be fair. There was a reason we weren't shown actual gameplay. The best designs on GSPro match if not surpass this graphically. Will be interesting to see how things look on different courses however. As usual loved the video 👍

Thanks for watching! I think during initial release from what I was explained it was a balance to not kill off anyone without enough PC and they will roll out more graphics enchantments. Jakob Munk talked about it in my HQ visit video. I will say in person it’s impressive overall but has a handful of things they still need to address that I’m aware of. Thanks for watching!

@@golffe I have talked to them, seems similar to MLM2Pro but with less features like the impact camera or swing camera. It uses marked balls and does a pay per hole subscription which is interesting. I might get one since everyone seems to want to see it, I honestly did not think it would have much demand with that model but happy to cover it.

Interesting, I notice that you are missing club data on some shots as well. I have a Trackman IO and since upgrading to TPS10 I only get club data every second or third shot, prior to TPS10 I got club data every shot.

Known issue with TPS. They are hoping to get it resolved here very soon. Sounds like they are already testing a new update 👍

They both use Unity. It’s surprising to see how much different you can make an engine look with various textures, etc. Thanks for watching

@@GolfSimulatorVideos I'm sure this level of graphics is possible in GSPro. I bet TM has a full dev team building these courses, where GSPro's courses are usually designed by one person, who is often doing multiple courses at once.

Think they’ll go after the home sim mass market with a ~$4 - $6k option at some point or are they decidedly more high end for the foreseeable future?

Nice video, Jay. This is the first golf simulation that I’ve seen that looks like it could go toe to toe with GSPro. I assume, however, that you must own a trackman unit to play this software? (I have an Eye Mini). Also, thanks for leaving the bad hole in your video. I actually learned a couple things seeing you work your way out of trouble. It’s kind of boring watching all fairways and greens all the time. Final question, have you heard anything on Uneekor’s Game Day software? I thought they were going to release late summer…

@@sellnbrew1 Yes Trackman keeps this for their units only. Makes sense as they are truly a hardware company so why unlock it, other than you might notice Skytrak licensed the maps of their old software so doesn’t mean they won’t share a little eventually like that but never direct I’m assuming. Glad you enjoyed that. Trust me my golf is not perfect haha. I try to show misses when I can and have some shanks in videos too!! :) Game Day I guess got another overhaul and they are working on it but I don’t have a date yet. Will be sure to keep everyone posted asap. Thanks for watching!

As someone who has played both VG3 and Apex which software graphics do you prefer? Its a deciding factor on which LM i am going to use for my build. I want the best graphics possible.

This is an impossible question to answer on software preferences. It is VERY personal preference driven. I will say the facts are Trackman software if very polished at this point and has a lot more premium courses so more facts it is ahead of apex right now and offers a ton of powerful tool inside of it like swing camera recording, Tracy, online play, and games too. I do not think it takes my opinion to say that it is ahead of Apex.

Do you prefer the io for the indoor aspect? Rather than the normal T4.

Yes. It doesn’t require the light like TM4 and measures spin axis vs calculates so never misses indoors. Tm4 is still great with the right light, but if primary use is indoors I recommend iO. Tm4 is excellent outdoors and very powerful with its full array of club data etc.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned, but there was a constant humming almost like a helicopter sounds through the entire video… it was very faint but I noticed it… not sure if a wire was loose or microphone was too close to a speaker? Tough to say where it was coming from… just wanted to give you a heads up.

@@GolfSimulatorVideos I have noise cancelling bose headphones and made sure it wasn’t doing that with any other video. It wasn’t. They pick up tons of noise in videos. Maybe use headphones and watch the video? Could just be headphone users, tough to say…🤷🏽‍♂️

It’s pretty tough to pick a favorite. I will say it’s one of my families go to for sure. They like how they can go down and click one icon and it’s easy for them to use and golf without me helping. That was pretty enlightening when they shared that. Many systems have positives and negatives, could be features or pricing etc. It’s nearly impossible for someone to say who has the best graphics out of a few top popular platforms since it’s so personal opinion driven. That’s why I try to show all the various ones as much as I can.
