In this episode Miss Marcie interviews world-class DJ Yes Yes Jill on location at the Sugar Shack Tattoo Parlour in Kincardine where owner Scott Duncan has hosted live music/dance events for years.
Miss Marcie gets right into how Jill started deejaying 15 years ago. Prior to that, when she was in University she used to make mix tapes (cassettes) of various songs and artists that she loved and would mail them out to her friends in little care packages. This was back in like 1998-99. She also spent a lot of time in Toronto going to raves in the late 90’s early 2000’s. Drum and Bass and Jungle was huge for her back then.
From there, it’s all about process as Jill explains how she was part of one of the most inspiring DJ movements in Toronto, what she does for a day job and more. Have a listen!
