I did enjoy going to Reading in this period Colin collection the stock from all the HSTs Parcels and InterCity trains. Great reminder when we had a proper railway I think, regards Mike.

Hey Colin, great video, 30 minutes of enjoyment, as the 47 is my favourite diesel. In fact, on my layout, at the time of this post (January 2025), I have thirty five of them! Always look out for any 47s in a video that I have, and spotted a few! 47573, 47569, which was not long named, 47844 on the VSOE, before it was named, and 47828 are the ones I spotted. Must also mention 47805, which we see in large logo livery. Later, in 1991, it was repainted into IC swallow livery, and gained the name "Bristol Bath Road", previously on 47490. Whilst 47805 gained the Intercity lettering, it didn't gain the swallow motif.

Old very smokey Duffs Colin and plenty of them , didn't realise Reading was host to so many of them! Amazing archive footage and for me the Network Southeast was my favourite livery. Was that the second style after the toothpaste one? Really enjoyed this look back almost thirty five years ago,and i was a mere thirty two. Oh please transport me back ! Thanks so much for the great comments Nick, it's really appreciated. I hadn't thought about the livery style on the NSE locos mate, so not sure about that i'm afraid. As for you being a mere 32 Nick, i was a slightly older 38 so not a lot of differance between us. Hope you havn't been hit to hard by the snowy weather in Lancashire. I'm in Essex at the moment so escaped the worst of it. All the best Nick, stay safe, Colin.
