Can we also not forget this man ran almost entirely ALONE the whole race. The fact that he was able to smash the record by so much with no pacers and with no other competitors around with him is astonishing

It's weird, usually the camera makes runners look slow, maybe it's his form I dunno, but you can tell he's hauling the whole way.

Crummock, you're exactly right - that's what I was thinking the whole time too. As for the idiot comment by collide, don't mind him, he just turned 4 years old...
@wildwilie5 жыл бұрын
I think its because usually the camera's are in front of the runners. Also a few times the camera was right behind Parker then he would slow down around other runners showing how fast he was going.
@keepyupy23345 жыл бұрын
The fact that his half marathon was slower than the pace that kipchoge regularly runs his full marathons is astonishing, considering how incredible THIS race was.

I was thinking that the whole time...like, dayam, Kipchoge be flying...and this dudes already flying! =)
@someoneawesome86605 жыл бұрын
It wasn't a half marathon. It was 25km, which is 2.5 miles more than a half marathon. The time equates to about a 2:03 marathon.
@ytbaccount875 жыл бұрын
@@someoneawesome8660 kipchoge still runs about 4-6 seconds faster per mile. Anyway comparing this to half marathon times, it just isn't that special. Which is not that surprising since very few people ever run 25k. Still fast, just always a dozen Kenyans who can run faster:P

I'M nor sure how good the quality will be but on the top right hand corner of most any KZbin video you can tap a small circle/or 3 vertical dots for which is the settings. Then look for play speed and slow it down to either . 75 , .50 , or .25 which puts the visual and audio in slow motion. Hopefully it will work on your computer, tablet or mobile phone.Good luck, Kalif🏃♀️

Jarrod Hemann sorry man, that’s incorrect. He often runs in the Fastwitch but this is a prototype carbon plate shoe used by one or two Saucony athletes in recent races . Check the pictures online. Would like to know more about it and if it meets the rules on being readily available to everyone. Also, what are the performance advantages of this shoe compared to shoes like the vaporfly which offers between 1.6% and 6% better economy. You can see the amount of spring in Parker’s stride with this shoe. Probably puts him on par with the vaporfly guys but gives him an added benefit against the previous 25k record holder, which is worth highlighting. The 30 second difference is a nice gap and he probably would have won in the standard Fastwitch but I’d imagine the shoes are worth a bit
@antflynn75 жыл бұрын
RunFor OurLives why do they wear them so? Why didn’t Kipchoge wear Zoom Streak (which offer close to 2% increase in efficiency)for his 2:01? Why do you think Kipchoge wore the 4% shoes and not the Zoom streak? Why do you think Parker wore these and not the Fastwitch as per usual? ....if it’s nothing to do with the shoe? I know how hard these guys work. It’s been proven the shoes offer a an advantage in the journal of sports science. Anything me and you offer up as an argument isn’t really worth anything as we haven’t done that empirical testing with the necessary controls in place. Parker is one of my favorite runners regardless, but the shoe must be acknowledged in the historical records for fairness
