Your tutorials are perfect. That's all i got to say about that. BTW, do you have any idea if they are planning to implement a key-switch/articulation map feature? Very useful for those software that uses key-switch to switch between different articulation. For example: orchestral libraries have sustain, staccatos, pizzicato etc articulations. Don't think that'd be very hard to implement.
@InventiveGear3 жыл бұрын
Great question. I don't know if there is a plan for that. Say more about how it would work. Could you point to another DAW that handles key-switch mapping well?
@MustacheVerra3 жыл бұрын
@@InventiveGear Sure, it's call keyswitches in Studio One 5 and it's basically and added controller lane but very basic(they need to add midi ch and CC control). Cakewalk by Banlab call theirs Articulation Maps. This one might be my fav implementation but I'll wait to pass finale judgment later. Cubase(the 1st to come up with this as far as i know)call this function Expression Maps (part of their VST Expression technology). Logic call theirs Expression Sets i believe. A few developers have began delivering Expression Maps and Expression Sets with their sample library. Also, some daw can import maps from other daw like cakewalk Apparently .

Thank you. That's what I thought were talking about. The Studio One implementation is pretty cool. It would be a good idea to send the idea to TSC. I will also try to promote the feature when I get the chance.

@@InventiveGear i forgot to mentioned that Cubase probably has the best and most sophisticated one but it's convoluted to set up. The attribute option make it very simple in that you select a note (or group of notes) and then select the attribute(articulation) fr. drop down menu and thats it. No need to draw anything.

Many thanks but did you change your recording environment ? There is background noise in your narration and it sounds more hollow / roomy. Not a real dealbreaker but still .. Kind regards from Holland !

I wondered if anyone would mention that. It was super cold here and the heater kept coming on. Next time I will make sure it is turned off. Everything else is the same. I thought it better to get the info out than to wait several days to reshoot the video.

Is there any way to MIDI Learn with the Spitfire Audio instruments, as you would with the micro drum sampler?
@InventiveGear3 жыл бұрын
MIDI Learn is the feature to map knobs or faders from a controller to Waveform or plugins. Is that what you are talking about? If you mean so that Step clips map automatically to note names then no. But you can create a setup then save the step clip to use as a template the next time.
@one_mega_ohm91393 жыл бұрын
@@InventiveGear You have an old video the you show how to push the MIDI Learn at the bottom of the Micro Drum Sampler. It's an icon of a MIDI jack that turns blue and then you can assign the controller to the MDS pads. I was wondering if I can do that with Spitfire since my controller (e-drums) don't match up that well. Thanks for the reply.
@InventiveGear3 жыл бұрын
@@one_mega_ohm9139 Now I understand what you mean. Spitfire labs is more arranged like a keyboard and I don't think it has any programmable keyboard layout. You probably need to reassign the notes per pad from the hardware.

still no way to test note straight on the pattern editor drum name before entering it on the editor ?
@InventiveGear3 жыл бұрын
How exactly would this work? Do you mean the note would sound when you toggle it?
@frederice68533 жыл бұрын
@@InventiveGear @Inventive Creation no I would like the same behavior than in Logic or studio one, when you click on the note name on the step sequencer, you can preview the note before entering it. This way you can select and hear the note and be sure this is the note you want to insert in the pattern.

Is this correct: the step clips are for drum patterns, and the pattern clips are for melodies?

In general MIDI clips can be used for anything while Step clips are ideal for drums. But you can use either type for drums, chords, melodies or baselines
