on the tacoma theres two different modes. press for one, hold for the other. i turn it off when im running through deep snow, and shifting into 4L automatically turns it off.

Just bought a 2021 nissan versa n already got stuck in my snowy driveway. Did get it out without turning it off but was very difficult. Hope easier in future now that i understand!!!!!

I have a 2012 Camry SE and i always leave TC on and have never needed to turn it off. I barely ever, if ever, encounter terrain or snow/ice where it needs to be turned off. I did, however go to the desert in my Camry and there was a small dirt hill with desert-y terrain. The TC light flickered as my car was trying to get traction climbing the small hill.

im from nepal full of mountains and offroads. ive faced the situation on the way to mustang and offroad stiff mountain of kyangse lake jiri. i use mahindra and mahindra xuv 500 awd 2200 cc diesel powered engine. first i was confused but later i realised it was esp. my car couldnt go up hill like u explained. thankyou

I have Trac control on my Lexus RX350. My question is should I drive with it off to get better gas mileage like in the summer on long trips? Or does that really matter. I do live in the snow. It does have an extra lock button for more traction when it is on. Any advice as to which is better to drive it in in ideal conditions?

youll want to leave it in 99% of the time. when your traction control is limiting so much it slows you down to a crawl, turn it off. and in some toyotas just pressing it doesnt completely disable it. you need to hold it in for a few seconds. you see the different icon illuminated on the dash.

Much better video than the one from 2018. I'm still not convinced that traction control is beneficial. I think it was created more as an attempt by the automotive engineers to justify their wage increases and find ways for the automobile industry to charge more for new vehicles each year.

I have a RAV4. I just came from beach in St Pete, Florida. There was low tide. The ground was muddy and slippery. I thought that I got stuck but used traction control and I was out. Happy to have traction control.

TC is off and default off on tractors until needed, it uses too much fuel

Your mileage will increase by 1 or 2 MPG with the TC off too.

How about an actual demonstration on the surface you are describing? Both with and without the system engaged. Running up a dirt hill isn’t the same as driving up the hill. A visual learner needs to visualize the situation. A verbal description is not a visual demonstration. Sorry, I learned nothing from this video.
