What about dents under the eva traction pad? Is that an issue? How easy is it to detect whether your board is takeing on water under the pad? Also, I've read that wax isn't an ecological solution in so far that it will have a tendancy to come off in the water and deposit itself on the subaquatic environment (ie. coral reefs etc). This last point becomes a significant issue in places with alot of surfers. Thx

Heel dents are going to happen over time due to the foundation on which we are building on. Its a 2# EPS foam that will give under the right amount of pressure. Typically nothing to worry about. Go check out any pro surfers board. Dents all over the place. I can't speak much about the ecological effects of wax as I've never done any research on it. This was a video to tell people the difference between wax and traction.

Wax isn't entirely eco-friendly, but people who have traction pads still use wax. You still need wax in the front where your front foot is going to be.
