I got one 2 weeks ago. I'm in the Boston suburbs. She goes 4 miles a day and clearly prefers certain places. She has chip, ID collar, and reflective collar (Rodgz they adjust to 3 weights for break away)

All I want to know is do the cats ever get bothered by the collar and are they able to take it off with ease if it was uncomfortable?

My cats have never been bothered except maybe during the first days. Nowadays, they just get more excited about the opportunity to get outside and when they hear the beep of turning on the device. The GPS has fallen off couple of times from our other cat who occassionally has a frenzy run.

What if someone wants to steal him and takes device off? Also what if cat gets stuck and chokes Mine loves going in between bushes😳😪

Hi! The tracker will release if it gets stuck so the cat won't choke. Stealing the cat is another issue though; at least you have some idea what was the last location of the cat when it got lost.

@lindywoods6256 You should have your cat microchipped at the vets especially if it’s an indoor outdoor cat. So if your cat is stolen as soon as it is taken to a vet it will be flagged as missing.

Cool video, thanks for sharing. I have a Cat too, got something else. Tack GPS, i like it's long battery life. Similar experience and overall, I get better peace of mind, I always set up Safe Zone for my version of the gps tracker. I also use the same tracker for my asset, as it has 30 days of battery life on normal use.

Do you think the sound can scare the cat? Or maybe train it at home first with sound on so he gets used to it? Your cat is ok with it it seems

The sound is kind of difficult to hear with human ear. I think they have designed such sound that does not scare them

Does the breakaway collar come with the device? How do you ensure that collar doesn't cause injury to the cat?

Yes, the collar is breakaway collar. For some reason, our other cat breaks the collar quite often but other one has no problem.

I bought and charged my tractive up yesterday. i was happy that i finally found a device to track my cat, well it didn't work out that way I hoped it would, it was working good for an hour, but then when i saw him right in front of me outside, the app. said he was 23ft away and then the live mode only lasted an hour so didn't know where my cat was. i found him an hour later and the battery on the tractive was depleted.. so don't expect to live track your cat or dog for more than an hour. another thing is I couldn't get the collar off because its really hard to get off and then my cat got caught on something and the collar almost strangled him. i was looking around for a sharp knife in the house to cut it off him and when I finally found one, he was able to sqeeze out of the collar by himself and is now not feeling good. i'm really disappoined in the tractive mini after spending about $185 for it, the monthy fee for a year and the insurance for it..

do you have an issue getting the charging cord to stay on the device? I do. Thats my biggest complaint so far. Hard to tell if its charging.

For anyone else wondering, it might be possible to just rely on the magnet holding the charging cable to the tracker, but it should clip on (hook over the rectangular hook and then 'roll' it onto the round pimple).

Yes, you have to have monthly subscription but you can turn it on/off b based on your needs.

Hi! Thanks for your comment! Yes, you need one subscription per collar because it uses operator data signals. But you can turn it off when you don't use it. For example, use it for 2 weeks, then turn it off for 2 weeks.

Maybe. The device will sometimes fall off with our other cat when he is having a freak out. But haven't really felt it too much as a problem as it is quite rare
