In this DIY off grid cabin build, we are working on repairing to homemade boom extension for the tractor to help with the construction of our new satellite communication tower, so if your new here we finished the construction of the charred board and batten exterior on the timber frame cabin on the homestead in the Great Smoky Mountains using self-reliant skills from both modern and traditional hand tools in the woodwork from our own sawmill, we incorporated raised bed gardening, have a hobbit style chicken house pen, compost toilet, added a front porch to the cabin, an exterior rock foundation and the interior using wildwood trim from slab wood, and starting the plans for our new sawmill building, workshop and barn. Mortise and tenon are the basic frame work on the 7 x 7 post and beam along with the 7 x 10 beams that support the floor joist. We hope you will follow us through the final stages of the cabin build, root cellar, basecamp and future buildings for the homestead.

Good morning Richard, that's a great idea for putting a quick disconnect type boom on the tractor. it's that self-sufficient attitude and ingenuity that made this country. @@SmokyMountainOutpost Amen to Our God Given Rights written in our Constitution and Bill of Rights inspired By God and written by our Founding fathers. About our Second Amendment and our right to bear arms. Not only was our founding fathers encouraging American Citizens to Arm themselves it was also encouraged by Jesus in the Word Of God. This was before guns and the only weapon of self defense or War was the sword ⚔️. But Jesus said if you don’t own a sword 🗡 then sell your cloak and buy one. So he was encouraging the good God fearing law abiding people to have a way to protect and defend themselves during an uneven attack from the evil ones. So the way I see it and I have biblical scriptures to back up all of our constitution and Bill of Rights. So our founding fathers only wrote the God given rights that they knew that God had already given mankind. So every word of the Constitution and our Bill Of Rights is Biblically Sound. 😉👍

I mean, heck, the first amendment and the first commandment are direct contradictions to each other. That and statistically speaking, the right to bear arms causes more crime and deaths than it prevents. I'm all for patriotism, but not blind obsession, that's honestly pretty cult-like.

​@@CCRider5312that's also not what Jesus meant when he said that about swords. You can't just cherry pick and take things out of context. He literally said just a couple verses later to keep your literal swords sheathed because those who fight with the sword die by the sword. Taking things out of context you can pretend anything supports anything. By your logic you could use the Quran, Greek pantheon mythos, or native American traditions as "the foundation of American law". You're not being a good Christian by making up fake stories about what you think the bible means by taking it out of context and ignoring what it actually means like the METAPHORICAL swords Jesus talks about.

Do you think the tube is strong enough for that long Extension? I would make it as a triangle with smaller tubes on top. I hope you understand what I mean.

I understand what you’re talking about. I had used them before and cut them off and they worked just fine. I just didn’t have any way to take them off that’s why they ended up being cut off. I had to get a size bigger so that I can slide them down in there drill the holes and have a way to connect and disconnect it
