LOL I was a mechanic for 40 yrs. It is like pulling teeth to get this information over the phone. Usually when you start asking questions the person is all ready upset his car will not start, when you ask questions you will get some one who will say ..I called you because are the mechanic LOL. I heard it more times than you can imagine.

Good video mike!! My buddy has a Mahindra 1626 was bush hogging stop to blow everything off n blew up under dash went to do some more work no dash lights has juice going to flasher's and key switch have Checked everything we can find still nothing it's got us bum fuzeled. I worked on my neighbors tractor this summer. After four days she called her son-in-law who said take hammer and give the starter a blow. This retracted the gear and it started right up. I replaced the starter and there hasn’t been a problem since.

Mike, I have a New Holland TC-40A Boomer. The starting problem is it clicks really good and sometimes cranks. Or I can put my jumper on the starter and it starts immediately. So I know there's no battery problem and no starter problem. Is there a relay problem? A few months ago I had the dash apart and cleaned up and fixed the switch that was coming apart. But like I said it has a strong clicking sound to it and sometimes will crank. Have you had this problem your tractor looks a lot like mine.

I bought a non-running car. I had offered to help the guy find out what wqas wrong and fix it. He sold it to me for $50. I recognized the symptoms, went to NAPA, got a ballast resistor and drove it home. You might think you have a major isssue and just need a $3.50 part.

I have a McCormick CX105 w/ Perkins engine. I have good battery, fuel, and power to the dash when I turn the key on. Fuel pump comes on when key is on but it won’t crank when I turn the key to start. It is almost as if there is a bad relay. My PTO’s are in neutral as well. In the past I have been able to start it using a jumper wire on the starter. It won’t even do that now. I’ll hear click, then there is no power to the dash until I remove the positive cable from the battery, then reattach the cable. It resets the ignition. Is the above a relay problem or something else? Thank you.

My tractor quit after brush hogging - was the PTO interlock switch. Had to get the dealer out to fix it

My tym 574 tractor is gravity fed fuel from the tank to the filter but when I remove the line from the tank nothing comes out I clean the tank out blew out all the lines and still have the same issue could that be the fuel pump

PTO lever is the first thing I check after once not having my tractor start and looking at all the electrical and safety switch things only to then notice that somehow the PTO lever had been pulled down. Probably caught it on my pants or something getting on the tractor. It has happened several time since but is now a quick fix.

The first question should be will it not crank or will it crank but not start.

My tractor sometimes the gas gauge works correctly and other times the pointer is pointing to where it makes no sense. It has been this way since new and I bought it new in 2015.
