@@MFKR696 To be fair, any of the Tier 4 Final diesel engines no longer smoke or even haze. Not refuting that propane Cat equipment exists, I’ve never run any of them just the diesel stuff, but not even my pickup smokes and the pipe is clean because of the after treatment. All of the tier 4 equipment I’ve run has clear exhaust. Just my .02

@@powerstrokeking Most of the Tier 4 stuff I've been around puts out at least a whisper of smoke under heavy load. It's not a lot, but it's there. It's just the nature of the beast. No system is perfect. As for the Propane thing, just to explain it; They typically get run in areas where Carbon Monoxide buildup could be a problem, just like with their forklift brethren. Indoor forklifts run on propane because its combustion is Complete. It doesn't release Carbon Monoxide, since it burns so clean when tuned properly. Generally, if you can see the exhaust of a propane forklift, it's either cold or there's something wrong with the engine (usually it's the Regulator diaphragm that goes screwy, and more often than one would like).

@@MFKR696Good to know, I’ve never really noticed any smoke, just the usual heat haze as a result of regens. I’d imagine as the machine and after treatment system ages it’ll get less efficient and start smoking a bit. Have seen them get plugged up

All good as long as you figure in a $2 a mile for the undercarriage. Otherwise wont be able to make next years show. Awesome pulling power. If you can't push it you can probable pull it, and if you can't pull it you can still climb it!

Damn really? What’re mtnce intervals on the undercarriage? We talkin 10 thousand miles or a hundred thousand
@kenh95082 жыл бұрын
@@Compression_Igniton on that dozer (or any other) undercarriage will be the most expensive thing to consider. That dozer would for sure have an odometer that would give total miles forwards and reverse. I don't claim to be an expert, but I would say 15k miles would be on the high side of track life or around 4500 hours. Many variables and an incredible piece of engineering. Just saying it would be very possible to still owe 100k on a dozer and have it need 30k in repairs. I'm sure many will disagree.
@IronWarrior955 ай бұрын
@@kenh9508 it's a d6, so it's just peanuts anyway. Now buy new undercarriage for a D11 every 3,000 hours, so probably every year.
@IronWarrior955 ай бұрын
@@Compression_Igniton I don't know who calculates with miles on a dozer instead of hours, but hundred thousands of miles on one undercarriage would be a joke, because it wouldn't even go that faar in It's whole life. It's a once a year event or even every 9 months or 3k - 4k hours max for a undercarriage. Oil changes every 500hrs on new models. Maintenance and fuel are more expensive than the dozers itself after a few years.
