I'm glad she is getting love again. She received such harsh criticism for not being your typical blonde haired blue eyed artist. But she's better than any artist. My mom used to play her music and Billy Idol on weekend mornings.i would wake up to either Fast Car, Give me One Reason, or White Wedding. My mom has awesome taste in music. She wasn't always the best mom, but she taught me what awesome music is. I'm so happy for her.

Chapman's voice transcends race and gender. Chapman is Everyteen struggling to leave home and begin an adult life with a companion who is hopefully trustworthy. In this case, the turning point doesn't turn: very melancholy but somehow uplifting. Reminds me of a very affecting short story by Joyce Carol Oates -- "Four Summers," collected in her 1970 book "The Wheel of Love."
