Your poetry was next to me throughout the best and the worst days of my life. I met you back in 1990 when the anthem Baby, can I hold you? was a hit in Brazil because of a famous soap opera. Unfortunately, the actress was brutally murdered by her pair in real life. Your song got even more famous. I bought the LP and started singing, first, after you. Later, with you. I've lost count of how many times I couldn't finish singing "Last night I heard the screaming. Loud voices behind the walls" because my eyes would well up and a frog would go down my throat. Well, it still does. My wife was jealous of you once. hahahahahah She's ok now. I do love everything you write and sing. Now, my students have the chance to sing your songs with me. Tracy, I have loved your music from the beginning, when I lived in San Francisco ('80s) and continue finding myself putting it on or seeking it out online. Recently discovered that since my mom passed not long ago, this song has a whole new meaning to me and although it always made me smile, lately I end up in tears. Among my earliest memories are of my mom singing 60s and 70s songs along with the AM radio in the car. It wasn't long before I was singing with her and that continued even decades later whenever we carpooled. If you ever see this, KP, good work. This is one of my favorites.
