Wonderful. I'm trying, in my amateurish way, to "master" this intricate and melodic Schumann marvel. I'm suffering from the six-months-plus-ago loss of my beloved wife of 49 years, and this "scene" is providing me a measure of solace.

Do you use the right pedal ? It seems that C sharp in first mesure cannot be lifted before the half of the next E note (the middle notebof the triplet) has sounded
@TracyXian
@TracyXian 7 жыл бұрын
Leshka Pianist Yes, I use pedal to sustain the melody. I also use finger substitution in the right-hand melody to connect between notes.

Tracy Xian the use of the pedal makes the notes in the left hand sound longer than they should, doesn't it? P. S. I'm not critical, I just try to understand how to play this polyphonic piece correctly. Should we keep the eighth notes in the bottom with fingers or with the pedal ?
@TracyXian
@TracyXian 7 жыл бұрын
Leshka Pianist Not really. If it sounds too much pedal, try partial (half) pedal. Balance and voicing control are the key issues. I change pedal with my left hand base-line.

Tracy Xian this piece is not so easy as one could think looking at it's name - pieces for children : -) thank you for your responses . I will try it.

Leshka Pianist you are right! This piece is much harder than it sounds. But it’s a beautiful piece that teaches voicing technique, which is one of the most important skills in piano playing.

Hi Tracy. How do we go about the counting for this piece? Do we count like 1,2,3 1,2,3 1,2,3 n 123?
@TracyXian
@TracyXian 6 жыл бұрын
Twinblades-TheWillToKeepLosing you must feel the music in 2 beats per measure; therefore, the best way to count in subdivided beats is 1 a la, 2 a la...hope this makes sense.

this method and adaptable on all the tracks?
@TracyXian
@TracyXian 8 жыл бұрын
+Giovanni Pisciottu I call this method voicing study. It works especially well for a piece that has multiple voices (melody and accompaniment) within one hand.

Alexey O I am not sure I understand your question completely. Could you be a little more specific? Such as measure numbers and alike? Thank you!
