"Dating coach Karla Elia tells women not to go out with a man who is “nice” or who “treats you right,” but one who can “afford” them.
Her advice, while highly criticized by some who have seen her videos, has dominated a pocket of the internet that depicts heterosexual romance as a deal between men and women, in which women are receivers and men are providers."

Listening to this and as I’m someone who is involved in BDSM. These women aren’t being “submissive” they’re trying to manipulate a partner into trying to take care of them. However, the partner they’re trying to get is going to be someone whose conservative, or doesn’t do well socially, and most likely going to end up in a relationship that ends up being physically or emotionally abusive either to the women or the men.

Is someone who was reeling 6 figures when you met suddenly no longer dating material if he loses that income? What if the company he works for dissolves right after you marry or have a child? Attaching partner compatibility exclusively to income is dumb, dehumanizing, and open to go wrong in so many ways.

That 24-year old woman is a dating influencer, but telling women to embrace traditional gender roles and telling them to have a materialistic approach is not a traditional dating influencer. Her suggestions is to put all of the onus of a relationship on the man and that he will love it. She is not suggesting a traditional relationship. She has just rewrapped gold-digging and misses the most important thing that men want from their women - love, respect and fidelity.

It is frustrating how corporate greed has pushed people to the extremes of believing people like her, Tate and all the other online relationship "gurus." If people had a decent livable wage, people wouldn't have to be resorting to gold digging, OF, grifting etc. The elite is killing the middle class, people are either making too much or too little. And we can't blame women for looking at the top instead of the bottom. We all want what is best for us. If we were to have income equality, much more people would be marrying for love and not money.

When l first met my husband. I was in further education and he was just starting out in work and both barely had much to our names. Our cheap dates included long walks and talking about absolutely everything and nothing and this made our relationship that which was built on respecting our journey together and we are each others cheerleaders. Our roles within the home as we had children changed constantly based on who was working long hours, early finishes and on holiday rather than what was classed as traditional genda roles or modern ones. We made it work for us so all this nonsense about women being the price and having expectations of a life they can’t provide for themselves is utter nonsense. Respect each, support each others dreams and if that includes one being the home maker and the other being the provider, cherish your roles and play your part instead of being manipulative to get money which may only work when you are youthful and fades as you get older.

Transactional relationships are not romantic relationships. They're just barter, capitalism. In a real romantic relationship, you have your partner's back, no matter what, and your partner has your back, no matter what. And that includes "no matter how much money you make or don't make." That's why real relationships are strong and more important than capitalism.

"women shouldn't be too easy to chase". There are a couple of problems with this. The first is that a lot of guys wont bother with "the chase" (persistence) in this day and age when everything leads to accusations of being labelled a creep. It also leads to these women pigeon holing themselves to about 10% of guys out there, and then they'll complain about all men in general.

None of these influencers (men or women) ARE MARRIED!! Why isn't their advice working for them? I don't listen to the failing business owner about how to succeed. These influencers are ridiculous.

What about "It's cheaper to keep her"? It's still more likely the women will end things, because "If you remain with a guy for his money", the money often gets used up, and she may find a man with more money.

Seems like “trad” is simply a shiny new term for “gold digger”. If you’re all about the money, you’re a gold digger .. it’s that simple. If you value your worth based on how much people spend on you, you’re a gold digger. Changing the term doesn’t change the fact you are a gold digger. And yes there are plenty of men who need money to get a woman so they’re all for this rebranding of what a gold digger is. But if you’re really looking for a gold digger just search for women in poor countries who see a man who pays their bills as a hero. There are beautiful women in poor countries who are just looking for money to escape their current situation. A lot of times they have young children and the father of their child refuse to support them. Just understand money is not love. You can’t buy love, you can buy some people but you can’t buy their actual feelings toward you

Ensure the person who is courting you is able to take of himself and has the means to at least keep a roof over your head and food on the table doesn’t seem unreasonable. What’s unreasonable is expecting 6 figure salary, foreign trips, luxury items, and a lavish lifestyle.

Dating only men who can afford women, whether they are 'nice' is irrelevant... and being a 'submissive' woman... and manipulating a partner... are misguided standards of marriage in Asia (I would know) Granted, a man should pay for a date w/ a woman... but if a woman wants to spend her own money while out on the night, she should... And women who are financially independent and confident often make better partners to men who are also financially independent (not deadbeats) and working actively. Marriage is a financial contract; partners should also have similar goals and mutual consideration to forming a family... And I have seen too many situations where a woman manipulates her husband/ partner behind his back while acting 'submissive' and 'loving' up front... and it never works. Men and women should have an open dialogue and good communication in a marriage or relationship... or it will be doomed by secrets and affairs. These so-called 'influencers' are truly delusional. I doubt they are in a stable, loving relationship themselves... 😈

So, what is her track record in long term relationships? She sounds, since everything she is saying is in the hypothetical third person like she isn't in one now, and has never been in one, which is pretty much to be expected from someone who is 24. That's the thing, everyone that is saying 'listen to me' has zero actual success behind what they are saying/ The thing is, the people who actually are able to speak from experience are....old. I mean nobody celebrating their 20th or 30th anniversary are in their early 20's by definition. But if you talk to the people who have actually made the permanent relationship thing work, even those who were OG tradwives in the 50's and you hear something entirely different than the nonselse being spread by these 'influencers'.

So what if your husband that you've given the final word in decisions that affect BOTH of you makes a BAD choice, and you know it's a bad choice, but you're not "being a wife" if you put your foot down? Say he makes a bad investment, and you knew it was a bad investment, but you let him go ahead and do it, then you lose your house and he isn't "providing" anymore? You can't be the solution because you're not supposed to work. Then what? You divorce him, there's nothing to GET in the divorce, the house is already gone and he's broke. You have no personal money of your own, what are you going to do, move in with your parents or siblings while looking for a DIFFERENT man to take care of you? What if the men who wan't "trad wives" don't want a divorcee, doesn't want a woman who already has kids, or you're not as young and hot as you used to be, and these guys who want trad wives, that's what they want. A hot chick in her prime breeding years, which you will not remain forever.
