I'm impressed by the depth of insight in this video. What strategies or techniques did Luke find most effective in managing his OCD, and how did he discover them? As someone who runs a dream interpretation channel, I'm curious if Luke's experiences with therapy and coping mechanisms have influenced his dreams or subconscious patterns in any significant way. I appreciate Luke's courage in sharing his journey with OCD and have liked and subscribed to his channel for more insightful content like this.

I've suffered with OCD since I was 8. I'm now 66. Antidepressants are the right treatment... in particular SSRI's. But what his doctor should have done is reffered him to a behaviour therapist for ERP, Exposure and Response Prevention therapy. You can't cure OCD but you can learn to control it. OCD is in the top 5 most debilitating disorders. There are genes involved.

Great advice and thanks for sharing. To be honest until he discussed it we didn’t realise how bad it can be for people. Hopefully more people will see your comment and take the advice. Appreciate the comment 👏

I also have ocd since 11 now im 27. I cant function. I dont know how my life will be in future. N peoples keep laughing to peoples with ocd. They dont know how ocd will ruin our life every day.😂. My heart feel heavy. I hate tht feeling

@shahirhaiqal1300 You should certainly seek professional advice, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, namely, Exposure and Response Prevention therapy, is the way to go. ERP is very effective for many. I'm going through a bad phase, myself. ERP plus an SSRI is helping me a lot. You can learn to control the symptoms and lead a normal life. It takes time and persistence but is achievable. CBT/ERP and for some an SSRI, is the gold standard treatment. Trust in yourself, you can get it under control, believe in yourself.

You can get pretty damn close to 'curing' it. To the point that is basically not a problem and you forget you have it, until a bad episode. I dislike the doomsday narrative, i've had peroids of my life which were basically OCD free or it was so insignficant it didn't effect me quality of life in anyway. It's still kind of always in the background though.

"It's still kind of always in the background, though" Precisely. As I said, you can't cure OCD but you can learn to controll it. Controlling it results in it being in the background, as you put it.
