A huge shout out to Business Stories for providing us with UK programming. This show provides real insight to the history and culture of the British Isles. Great historical artifacts and architecture. Cheers.

Loved that Drew took Enzo on this buying trip. Some interesting Sellers...exception the lady with the doors.

I love the way he dealt with Tim, could read the body language that told him Tim was deeply attached to all his items and worked with him to find a piece that would not have any potential use to him or would trigger that attachment issue. However irrational it is to us, Drew respects his customers feelings and doesn't demean them or call them on it knowing it would push the hoarder deeper into feelings of panic and a situation where they would be no sale at all. Brilliant!

Sure wish they show the pieces when they've been restored. Otherwise great view of these historic homes, etc. Love it!

How is it with bargaining with Caroline, Drew said the retail price he could get for those two panels (wall art) were $650-750, but when they loaded up the truck, on the screen note said retail price could fetch up to $950? The two/three figures weren’t even close. 🤷

Tim I have an idea ,if you don't want to sell anything don't ask a dealer to come and visit you ok !!
@topherjoe13 жыл бұрын
Oh but they do want to sell! The decision to sell in itself is a huge step for a hoarder to make, it is usually made when they are looking at a problem, no space, pending foreclosure, health issues, legal action. The trouble begins when they have to decide what items they are going to remove to solve their problems. In some, it is not possible to do, they are too far gone with perceived emotional needs connected to each item. At least his items are saleable, I knew of a hoarder that made this decision many times because of the city's threat to condemn her home but she couldn't part with anything on the day people came to look. She was locked out of her home, it was condemned and she lived in a hotel for a few months before she was hospitalized and died.

I’ve known hoarders all my life...........it’s a mental illness. I don’t mean people who own rare or beautiful items or people that restore and sell items for a profit. I mean people who let tons of items rot to pieces in a shed, garage or outhouse, and deprive someone else of the pleasure these items could have brought. A Psycho analyst would have a field day with Tim !
@larrymaxwell55353 жыл бұрын
This person, I won't call her a lady, the person wanted to know what you would get for them, I wouldn't have told her! Speaking of the carved planks! Let her go shopping then, then she can get a taste of how difficult they are to turn for what your profit would be, you were fair with her!

“Myself and my partner decided to move back” are all relationships now just business, are we no longer allowed to say husband, wife, boyfriend, girlfriend? If your gay those words can still be used! Partner just sounds cold and far too PC, mind, she does look very bland and generic, like so many men and women of this generation seem to do, I can’t tell them apart in a crowd these days! So I guess partner is a perfect generic word to describe generic people living planned to the last ounce generic, bland lives!

Have you thought about how much it costs to heat someplace like that? Or the electric bill or the cost of maintenance and repairs on those old buildings? Also every time one of those country houses get passed down to family members, there's a huge tax bill coming their way. Sometimes that's the reason they get sold
