I've had a lot of requests asking how trading has been in 2020 given the volatile markets. The velocity of the market crash at the beginning was pretty phenomenal and the volatility spike made the existing positions I held at that point of time losers. However, with a spike of volatility levels, also leads to rich premiums which is a premium sellers dream. The one sided market move meant I lost a long of short deltas during that time, so it meant I had to work my a** off to place new positions to keep my spy deltas in check. I usually advocate for short premium delta, but when the velocity of the moves are so fast and violent, there is the option of having static short delta to make it more manageable. Managing your size and your portfolio closely is the key.

Love it, thanks for following up! What DTE do you usually do for your strangles? Are you still managing ~100 positions at a time? That's nuts! I currently have 20ish and I find it a lot. How much of your margin do you usually use? A few other rising stars said they only use 50% capital, not sure if they included margin as well. I'm using 100% of my capital, but I have a 2:1 margin available in case I'm in a bind or need to make more trades.

Here is a 3000 a year trader. That’s an average 10/day. Most of the successful options traders on here seem to be doing well over 800-1000 trades a year and focusing on two or three underlying (SPX, SPY, etc…). How are they putting 4 trades day after day (some even say 10 a day) essentially the same underlying? Apparently with the same 30-45 DTE. Wouldn’t all the DTE and strikes start to pileup creating a concentration of risk around the 21 days to expiration? I’m really confused about the idea of 4-10 trades a day of just a few index options. Please help me understand
@jeremiedumas85553 жыл бұрын
I’m about 3000 a year too. You have to adjust yourself, so you sometimes need to roll out, roll up. With that say, the underlying itself move so the deltas aren’t for the same legs… Get your foot wet you’ll get hook.

@bwfreel4 жыл бұрын
vishka07 it is possible but not trading the way these guys teach trading. You can make a lot buying OTM options and being very lucky. It is a rare occurrence
@vishka074 жыл бұрын
@@sebbell3345 ??? Thats why i am asking 🤔 isn't that obvious 🙈
@cinematixCA4 жыл бұрын
@@vishka07 - Here's the thing... you could have bought one TSLA call option for $300 on Jan 23 and sold it on Feb 4 for $25,000 (about a week and a half) but that's just complete luck. Trying to build a trading plan on circumstances like that is basically the same odds as playing the lottery. And I bet you would have never done that because you would have sold that contract 2 days earlier when it was at $3000. Or if you held it one day longer, that 25k would have dropped back to 10k. You may pull it off a few times but you will lose 1000 times over trying to repeat it. It's not a sustainable trading strategy. Tasty Trade strategies use a slower, steady building of a portfolio that can generate a good return for the long term and is built on solid math and not dumb luck. You won't learn it overnight though nor will you learn to trade overnight. Just like everyone you see in these videos, they studied this material for months before they learned to become profitable and often a year before they could sustain it. You can try anyone's strategy - just paper trade it and don't pay a lot of money for it. You can spend thousands and thousands (and thousands) learning from big shots with trading plans but Tasty Trade will give you the best info for free. Take your time and learn it and it will pay off. So, is it possible she turned 300 into 75k... sure, it's possible but when trading without proper time to learn, it's even easier to turn 75k into 0.
