@@realjasonmiller I’m using your recipe (this video) for the Super Bowl! Never made my own grenadine before, you made it sound easy. Great content, keep it up! Greetings from Dublin, CA. Cheers 🍻

@@MarioHxc89 Dublin! I'm over here in Sacramento. Making Grenadine is stupid simple, just heat up the POM but don't boil and add an equal amount of sugar by volume, still until dissolved. That's it. In a pinch I've used a microwave before. You got it!

@@realjasonmiller No way dude! We are not far from each other, small world. Great tip, thank you! I’ve noticed you have a lot Jungle Bird items, just curious. Do you work at JB?

This recipe is the classic 1934 version by Don the Beachcomber. The original recipe called Don's Mix which was the combination of grapefruit juice and cinnamon syrup in a 2:1 ratio. This recipe is 1:1 which makes it a little less tart. Glad to see you used all of the top shelf rums required. I have accumulate the same rum's used in your videos and enjoy your take on the very same drinks that I have prepared. Kindred spirit, that's all I'm sayin'. Nicely done.
@realjasonmiller Жыл бұрын
Thank you dude! Yeah, I decided to do 1:1 because it seemed easier to most people to follow. Totally agree, when making it for myself or batching Don's mix for a party I'll do 2:1 as well.

ok this sounds amazing. I just had the Zombie from Disney world. I didn't see that herbastura on there recipe, but I think that would take it up a notch. Love your set up, thanks again for breaking down this recipe and making it easy to follow. cheers.

Thank you!! Yeah a lot of bar will just say absinthe or just list it as "bitters" because it's only a few drops but that few drops make all the difference. If you make this recipe let me know how it goes.

Great video I can't wait to make this with my Plantation OFTD. I've only used it in a Jungle Bird so far so I'm excited for how this will turn out. Great setup by the way, your theming is awesome. Go Dodgers! :)

How did it go? OFTD is great in a lot of cocktails, try a 151 swizzle, 2070 swizzle or a Navy Grog with it.

@@realjasonmiller Yes there's a couple of stores. The Bottle Barn & Wilibees both have Hamilton. The Bottle Barn has 86, 151 and the Zombie blend usually in stock, while Wilibees usually only has the Zombie blend. Though I would give them a call to make sure and put anything on hold for you if you're making the drive. Wilibees also has a shop in Petaluma. I picked up a bottle of Hamilton Jamaican Dark Pot Stilled Rum in Mill Valley one weekend too.

I don’t recall a zombie on the menu, Is this the same as the shrunken zombie head? Which is my favorite drink there.

They switched from the Shrunken Zombie head to the Zombie a couple years ago, they are very different cocktails. Personally I think the Zombie is a better cocktail.

I love me a good Zombie. I'm afraid I winced a bit at all the alcohol abuse (spilled booze) happening in this drink. Plus, I know you were doing it for appearances, but you kept using the same 3/4 ounce side of your jigger to pour, even for the 1.5 ounce rums. Would have been nice if you'd turned it over. :) That said, a good tutorial. I'm a Lemon Hart 151 fan myself for this, over the OFTD. But I love the OFTD in a mai tai.
