There's a reason special right triangles are in drafting sets. They're that important. Always appreciate shop and trades math. Used day in and day out by the highly skilled workers who built and continue to build our countries.

I really like your safety videos I am a UBC journeyman millwright also of over 45 years. When I was a 2nd year apprentice I was working at Pleasant Power Station, Willow Island, West Virginia in 1978. While working there I helped move 5 body’s after the collapse of a cooling tower that was being built there was 51 souls lost that day. So keep up the good work ( videos) on safety, because a lot of people don’t care about safety until it is too late.

Great example and Explanation . As machinist and programer for a specific brand of CNC machine or even operating a manual machine . First thing to learn on blueprint reading . Im not a expert but you no them engineers don't always give a length or start on a (O.D-I.D ) tapered angle . . So you have to break it down with a calculator and pice of paper . Or back finger alot of adding and subtracting . Simple math I had a great who I trained with and worked with . Thank you Ben so much . I should have been a millwright.

Very interesting...I imagine this is just a part of what you need to know as a professional millwright...you might consider teaching in future...good video!

You can also put your work piece in a V and mount a scribe above it so that when you rotate the work piece, it scribes a small circle and moving the scribe closer to the center finds the center point.

I wonder if people building custom headers use these calculations to build those beautiful components.

I just always remember the base of an equilateral right triangle is equal to the side times the square root of 2.

4:16 It's not magic, it's math. Repent to Christ now, and may the Lord do a thing to you that you teach and repent of magic, even this very day, Amen. Magic practioners will burn with the devil un a lake of fire. Christ is King.
