Great video Mercury...just one concern. The square footage for the construction 188sq feet sounds too small for what was being built.
@ravmercury32253 жыл бұрын
Thank you Nemshi. I'm not the best at reading floor plans but that is the measurement recorded and the contractor is building according to the measurements. Maybe it looks bigger on camera than it actually is.
@nemshimacapana67303 жыл бұрын
@@ravmercury3225 Even without reading the plan, I can tell something is wrong with the size 188 sq ft you quoted.The plan calls for a two bedroom, two bathroom and carport. However 188 square feet could never be enough to cover those spaces. Consider this; a 10 w foot wide by 10 foot long bedroom is 100 square feet (10×10=100). Minus 100sq ft from the 188sq ft leaves 88sq ft...It is impossible to get another bedroom, two bathrooms and a carport out of 88 square feet. The carport alone looks like about 200 square feet..which is 10 feet wide by 20 feet long. So something is not quite right.
@ravmercury32253 жыл бұрын
Maybe you can clarify the info for me as I am always willing to learn. According to the plan under Design Information the following is quoted Existing floor area: 4,154sq.ft/385.9192 sq.ms Proposed floor area: 188 sq.ft/17.4658 sq.ms. Total area: 4,342 sq.ft/403.385 sq.ms. From what I understand floor area here means the addition hence my reason for quoting 188 sq.ft. Maybe it is to be multiplied or something I don't know..
@nemshimacapana67303 жыл бұрын
@@ravmercury3225 🤔 So the original house was 4,154 square feet? Unless the method for calculating square feet has changed. The number of feet in width multiplied by the number of feet in length. Your original house was massive. If your original house was actually 4,154 sq ft based on the plan in the video, it would be about 50 ft wide by 83 feet long. It certainly doesn't look like that based on the look of it in the video and the blue print. That size of 4,154 sq ft sounds like the size of a typical house lot...the land; not the building. It would be good if you can double check with any independent contractor or drafts man just to confirm what the actual square foot of the house was and what the addition in square footage is. Or if you have a tape measure just stretch it across the front of the house to see how wide it is.

Thank you for subscribing Latoya. Welcome to the channel. The best person to provide you with accurate figures for your building project would be a qualified Quantity Surveyor. However for an estimate you could multiply the total proposed square footage by J$4000.00. It is always best to consult with the trained professionals though so seek the assistance if a Quantity Surveyor. Their figures are usually very accurate.

Thank you for your opinion. The quotations in this video as I said is specifically related to this particular project and none other. I was not referring to the standards that currently exists.
