I am Venezuelan and I recognize that the Essequibo territory has belonged to Guyana since its independence. Long live Guyana and Venezuela and may nothing divide us as sister countries.

National treasure he is. Not a blade of grass should be official song of Guyana.

Dave Martin is definitely underrated. He is a great musician, writing his own witty songs and playing his guitar so effortlessly. Truly a Guyanese treasure!
@MrRollinsb8 жыл бұрын
+Sammy Punsamie you made a very strong statement. If Guyanese can just honor their own, many will respect us. I talk about it all the time to many about playing what belong to them. This is serious culture. Go the an African get together and you will hear and see it full in your face......many Guyanese have to find themselves first, you can say you are Guyanese and when you have Guyanese get together you playing people music who don care three hang about your culture

These guys were my hero’s since I was 12 I’m from New Amsterdam. I play the guitar .. i and singh many of the Dave Martin’s songs ever since I came to the U S and Canada. Our monthly parties HAD to have The The Tradewinds, King Sparrow, Lord Kitchener, and the MerryMen Byron Lee .. I stuck with my Guyanese roots just like Dave has done he’s a Portuguese ethnically but most importantly he’s born diehard Guyanese. .his songs should be part of the educational curriculum … I’m not sure if this is happening but our lives are infused with ‘stories and poems within his and other artists’ lyrics in their island songs
