Raunak 1 request & 1 query for you 1) Query- Many a times a stock after remaining in a tight range.. (NOT NR4/7)... Maybe inside bar after inside bar finally gives a breakout with strong volume and the next candle also comes up with good volume but then it comes to test the breakout level and doesn't move up... There is no follow up despite good volume and theoretically correct breakout... There are many stocks which always have great volume and vix is now insane as well... Yet stocks don't move... Is volume and price action the only two things to be considered or there is something else as well..... What's your take? 2) Request- Yesterday Nifty and banknifty were showing complete divergence in terms of price action... Nifty was bullish and was running on reliance fuel where as banknifty was not at all interested.... So now my question is price before even reaching previous pivots (turning points) tend to reverse and do give a strong reversal... How to identify this sudden entry of bulls/bears according to you??... I would like to know what's your take on this??

Hello Dr. Chatterjee 1) Every stock has its own volatility cycle. To avoid this situation, try and see if both Stock volatility cycle and VIX is aligning with one another. This is when explosive moves happen. Cycles need not be long and can be tracked even on 30 min chart. Importance is alignment. 2) Nifty & BN have to be in alignment. This is when sustainable trend occur. If divergence persists for long, reversal of trend will happen. BN is leading index and determines overall market sentiment. Hence for me, it is the most important data point to track in our markets. Reversal (timing) is something that is not easy to spot. First initial signs almost always come with high volume activity and hence Price & Volume more often than not will keep you on the right track.

How does the colour of volume candle to be considered. For example if breakout on upside happened on high volume on a green candle and if it turns to red with high volume in the next candle what is to be assumed?

Color of Candle or Volume does not matter. If breakout candle has good range and volume, its a valid breakout. If next candle is a bearish candle, dont worry about it. At the max, stop loss will be hit.
