T&H also films and releases original interviews with iconic people who have experienced successes, while also persevering through life's highs and lows. We look forward to sharing more of these perspectives and insights.
Our hope with these videos is to push your thinking. As Alan Watts said “No one is more dangerously insane than one who is sane all the time: he is like a steel bridge without flexibility, and the order of his life is rigid and brittle.” - Alan Watts.

There's a trick to his wisdom and apparent foresight. It involves the process of aligning oneself with reality - which actually, is much simpler than most people might think. And the more aligned one becomes, the clearer the overall picture becomes. Anyone can do it really - _if_ they want to. The thing is, not many people want to. Most of us are simply too busy dealing with our immediate little daily problems, to be able to focus on the bigger picture.

You are a cancer to society. You seek to destroy simply because things don't fit your world view. Wake the god damn fuck up already. Why cant people find their own way without nonsense like this? If you actually believe your views to be the correct ones then it is just inevitable that people will come to that same conclusion right? Yet people aren't. a few years ago i heard about a story of people exploring a vast cave network, it had already been explored to a good degree, but these folks were pushing new boundaries, eventually one of them spotted a straight line in that weaving cave system and knew that it was out of place. It turned out to be a handrail, they had found their way into another set of caverns that was a well known tourist destination.

The difference between him, and others after him, is he paid attention. He had a desire to learn and understand, not just make money and have power. His kind would make great leaders. Only to get people to change means getting rid of the desires of the flesh. People in this world are so greedy, money driven and in a hurry to go nowhere. Think about it, what are at doing? We haven't evolved at all. To evolve you learn from your errors and mistakes and make the necessary changes. You don't destroy, you certainly don't kill your own kind, and you work together to survive and improve your children's world. The ONLY problem we've created is the desire to become rich and powerful for the very short 60+ years. To be perfect, rich and beautiful. Is rather live of the grid and go back to the horse and buggy and g77et my face out of my phone.

I was in fact a little of a smartass when I called some non alcoholic people “boring chickenshits.” This is probably my own sensitivity regarding my own alcoholism. I’ve learned that addiction is largely a judgment over how one spends their time… is it “productive” of not seems to be the crux issue. When I stopped drinking I did like you said and buried my head in the sand using other methods… working out, food, politics, sex, work, even aa itself, which helped me get sober for the first place. to the point where I became addicted to being “non addicted” to anything. I looked up “frenetic.” This does indeed describe me, fast and seemingly uncontrolled. I’m sorry for the bad energy brother. I mean it when I say have a nice day.

Look at Brazil and how its fascist leader tried to steal an election and failed and then tried to overturn it and only stopped because of opposition. Now my country the US is facing this issue yet again in a few days and there is a good chance humanity and freedom will lose out. My art professor taught me that nature employs organic shapes. Fractals and organic shapes are in nature. Straight lines are rare in nature. Humans use straight and curved lines to build over the top of nature. Yet, we are most attracted to organic shapes because that is what we always saw until we perfected the use of straight materials.

I think it's important to keep in mind that when he says "failure", it's only because we've defined "success" within the context of control and improvement. That being said, humans are just being humans the way flowers are flowers, trees are trees, cats are cats, and bears are bears. Humanity flows like the rest of nature, we're just doing it in a unique way. Even if that flow leads to self-destruction, it's still simply nature being nature.

True, we feel separate but each of us is ONE with the whole universe. Actually there is no lines of separation in nature, only thought creates these separations in attempt to understand and thereby to control the universe from which this same thought springs. This feeling of separation, which Alan Watts admirably describes in many of his talks, conjugated with science leads inevitably to the destruction of nature and therefore of humanity itself.

I followed and adored Watts for a long time until I found he just plays with words to confuse, but gives no deeper meaning of consequence. Humans like squares because it's the most efficient way to be, to get the most from any stretch of land. Nature 'wiggles' because it has no power to be efficient, and therefore is chaos, a survival of the fittest, the strongest. If humans would 'wiggle' people would die due to lack of food and lack of housing. Just see how California 'wiggles' these days and watch the junkies live in tents with no oversight, an ever expanding chaos, and people are dying.

“Things become complicated only when we think about them”, lol! Coming from a man who, no doubt, spends more time thinking about things than most people, I’m sure. Ironic. This is not to say that I don’t find Mr. Watts insightful and inspiring, I do. I am grateful for thinkers such as Alan Watts. I love how he articulates his ideas and thoughts.

He was getting at we over complicate things because we refuse to accept it as it really is. We say oh it's really complicated, no, it's not. Truth is that which can't be simplified further. We need to believe things are complicated so we can believe were intelligent.

Thats where I'd be grateful ending up in my 40's or 50's like Alan. Just strolling around with my backpack like a kid on a field trip, yet who got accidentally left behind and gets to just enjoy the experience of reality. I'm already similar to Alan as i'm one of the few enlightened people on the planet but the moment, if it's meant to be, has not yet arrived where I get to enjoy that unplanned field trip. I already think about all this stuff though.

I suspect there are far too many people out there who have never even wondered about it or asked the questions. Hence the path mankind is on. That or they've seen the truth of things and simply ignored it.

Alan Watts, the man who leads you on and says just enough to think you're on the cusp of vital knowledge, but never gaining it. He's just an entertainer.

Your skin isn't a barrier that separates you from the universe, its a bridge through which the universe flows into you, and you flow into it. You didn't come into the world, you grew out of it. You are what the whole universe is doing in the same way that a wave is what the whole ocean is doing. One night you will look up at the sky and say, "Why, that's me!" What would it be like to go to sleep and never wake up? Next question, What would it be like to wake up never having gone to sleep? That was when you were born. You can't have an experience of nothing. Nature abhors a vacuum. Are you getting this jhorf? Because I can go on! If you are your little toe then you are the sun, and wheresoever beings exist anywhere in the universe you are all of them. Who are you, really? You know who you are. Not your name, that's just what we gave you. The real you, the real deep down you, IS the whole universe. If you're not gaining vital knowledge don't blame Watts. Look in a mirror. You are an aperture through which existence itself looks out. But you are playing the game of not knowing. Peek a boo, I see you. Pretending not to see yourself.

The squiggly hypothesis joins the gaia hypothesis to become the squiggly gaia hypothesis. First time listening to Alan. Now 70 and a wildlife biologist professionally and at heart I have listened to and read the words of great thinkers. mystics, scientists and theologians. My simple conclusion which sells no books, provides no career in university or church is that we are animals like all the other animals on planet earth unfortunately with a brain capacity that has outstripped its usefulness in nature to survive, reproduce and die as the primary mission of all living organisms. So now we have spent the last 30,000 plus years in what might be called civilization developing all this mythological garbage about why were here, where we will go upon death when all other life has clarity in its living and does not challenge its mission to survive reproduce and die to maintain its species. This is on a planet that has been here some 4.39 billion years more than our species.

Yes is it not odd to you , that humans are a part of nature and yet we are trying to separate our selves from our Nature , which got us hear collectively from a Conscious level of awareness to who you are in relation too I AM!!!
