I've been making a lot of losses trying to make profit trading. I thought trading on a demo account is just like trading the real market. Can anyone help me out or at least advise me on what to do?.
@Timothy1689Ай бұрын
I will advice you should stop trading on your own if you keep losing.

Retail traders liquidity is peanuts for institutional traders, don’t buy into that “institutional traders vs retail traders” conspiracy theory, retail traders are not providing real liquidity to the market, it’s the market makers. What for you might be a sell price, for a market maker and their robots needing to fill thousands of orders is still a buy. Or the other way around. Real competition in the market is between Institutional traders against each other. As simple as that.

So you are saying Retail traders are irrelevant in the market and ain't represented? I'd like to disagree. Multiple Retail traders can make an impact, and that's why institutional traders wait for them to exhaust their Market orders before entering to change the market direction and as such retailers who wants to take advantage of this enter and drive the order even farther. 1+1=2 buddy.

Seeking your wisdom--Over thousands of trades market movements are random--so we can assume that smaller distances are more likely to get filled back and forth(say 30 pips) compared to bigger distances (say 60 pips)--so we want to nail larger distance when ever market LUCKILY gives that larger move & still control drawdown with hedge order in place of stop loss order--that gives you one more shot to break even with no additional risk exposure. So if pair has daily ADR of 100 pips, expect to see enough filled orders at the end of the week. Academic literature has never researched this common sense which can make $$ for ivory towers MEN.

I would love to be able to trade the ranged markets. It looks so easy right? I mean, there's your premium and there's your discount, so just trade inbetween. Easier said than done. Nine times out of ten, if I enter a long at discount or a short at premium the market decides to break out of the range and I'm stopped out.

My observation is that WHEN horizontal trend line drawn on longer time frame 4H,may also be exactly SAME LEVELS trend lines on shorter time frame eg 1H, 15 M-- THAT LEVEL trend line has lot more RELIABILITY than trend line which shows up only on one time frame.We know markets are fractal & pattrens repeat on different TIME SCALES/MAGNIFICATIONS(Look at cauliflower).Horrizontal trend lines carry more weight than angled trend lines.Please comment with your wisdom.

can someone correct me if im wrong liquidity is basically an area in the market where traders have orders resting ( stop losses , buy limit orders ) and because the big banks have large orders ( buy or sell) they want to fill in order to move the market , they have to take out and target these areas of liquidity so that their huge orders can be filled ????
