There are a number of Westerners trying to move permanently or retire in the Philippines, but not all are successful. I have observed that it all boils down to the person's attitude and resilience. Living in the Philippines is a test of courage, patience and character....Unlike Thailand, it doesn't spoil you, it will not give you life's comfort and convenience...however, it allows you to adapt to a new culture and a simple way of living. And only the "right ones" get to stay.

I‘d be careful with the word „happiness“. 1. There is no ideal/happy country. 2. What makes someone happy may change over the years so a specific place might not suit anymore. 3. Places change and they might not suit anymore. 4. There is no heaven on earth- nowhere. But a piece of heaven can begin on earth, no matter where on earth it is. And isn’t „meaningful purpose‘ something that considers life being finite and what happens after death?

I think you both are wonderful parents! I am not a troll but I have a question. Why doesn't Story wear a seat belt? I have been to the Philippines and I know they drive crazy.I also know you are on an island with a hardly any traffic.However a person can be ejected from a vehicle if there is an accident. Only telling you because I care❤

Most people in the phil dont wear seatbelts...cars are much more safer than riding on a 🏍️ motorcycle wc dont require seatbelt and wc most people use as means of transpo.
