Rayner, I have learned about an ATR method. If I don't get all complete understand, I can watch your video again until getting all completely understand. For many years, I read book (mostly IBD education and other books) before KZbin came a new version. It is much easier to learn on the video education and can repeat watching. 2 weeks ive been trying to figure out how to se ATR all the other videos i have watched those things was very confusing for me i had no clue what they been talking about but you actually hit the point and made me realize how i can use it wow thank you so much! its just amazing how detailed you explain everything! i subbed and now going trough your videos and learning even more. ive been trading without any knowledge since 2019 and i have never used stop lose but somehow i actually managed things i came up with my own strategy and it worked for me but to combine stop lose to my strategy + ATR + fibonacci + AMT + Support and resistance this all together is the one that just makes my trading experience much easier and thank you for the info!

What I do is set the atr to 20 periods on the settings and then x2 the atr number and use that as my stop loss

Excellent presentation to the point. I can suggest to consider ATR based on percentage instead of absolute value when considering the lowest ATR value. This is because if the value of the instrument varies in an important value the ATR will exhibit meaningless number because a 10$ price might have an ATR of 0.75$ and once the price reaches 25$ the ATR might be 1.88$. In absolute value there is a difference of 1.13$ that has completely different meaning. But in % both have a value au round 7.5% that shows a consistency in the volatility. Also it could be compared to other instruments with considerable difference in ATR in absolute value as for example a stock with a price in the 300$ range that can exhibits an ATR of 30 ! Food for thoughts. Keep the good work.

True to form, there is no 'given'. I use the ATR to set stop loss and take profit. However, just yesterday I was stopped out by less than 2pips even though I set it by using ATR and even added a cushion. But then the market turned and climbed like mad.

Thanks Rayner, it is a great powerful strategies for trader. Only you teach how to set up Stop Loss properly. You are genius. Some KZbinr teach to set up Stop Loss 8 pips only or % for whatever. Doesn't make sense. You are right. Stop Loss setting should be match the time frame, volume and the products. Do we have to chose the broker available Guarantee Stop Loss (GSL) and Balance protection?
