Classic professional clarinet sound! It's so beautiful. Although I don't know the piece, Martin's sound gives me the same sense of bliss & joy that watching the story of Harry & Meaghan does. These professionals are world class performers, bar none, & I absolutely love them for their work!

Check Backun, they are Canadian. They are beautiful and excellent. And many great players even say they are better than Buffet. I think it is just your ear, the one that sounds best to you in particular. Leblanc Paris (unfortunately already gone) used to sound great.
@Hnmcl-l9z4 жыл бұрын
Alejandro Carlos Backun is super overrated, they sponsor good players that would sound much better on buffet
@alejandrocarlos57024 жыл бұрын
@@Hnmcl-l9z Don't you think those "good players" would know if the sounded better with a Buffet. I was just offering a suggestion to try a different one. I have had Selmer, Buffet, Backun, Leblanc, even a Ridenour and they all sound great, I do like some better that others, though. At the end of the day it just a matter of opinion based on what kind of sound you like best, darker, brighter, etc. You will find players, bad, good and extraordinary that will swear for the kind the use, Buffet, Selmer, Backun, Leblanc, etc.

Some are asking about the mouthpiece - it APPEARS to be a BD 7 (?) - but even if it were a BD 5 or whatever model one sees being played by a super pro like Martin Fröst, I'd be willing to bet my clarinet that the clarinets AND mouthpieces featured in these kind of promotional videos may well be custom built to suit the player involved. Or, at the very least, super "personalized" or super set up to their taste . . . same as in other walks of life . . . for example in tennis, the racket MODEL the public sees in the hands of an elite player is NOT the same as the one they will buy in the store. The other thing too of course is that as commenter ccanaves (see below or above) points out, Mr.Fröst could sound great playing a CARROT LOL! It might be wise then, not to be over-influenced in our buying decisions by the often amazing sounds we hear in these types of video "commercials" - ALL due respect to Martin Fröst of course who is an OUTSTANDING player and is certainly NOT misrepresenting Buffet in any way, shape or form. It's just that What You See (hear) is often NOT What You Get . . . exactly, that is. Happy clarinetting folks : -)
@hoytbullock45045 жыл бұрын
Of all you said, the mouth piece is always what the user prefers. Mouth piece and barrel are key to making any clarinet sound better. But then again, how it sounds depends on what the user wants it to sound like. I play jazz, so someone like this guy probably would not like my mouth piece and barrel.

How's the intonation on the low f key. My Buffet R-13 has a beautiful that rich low F sound that plays perfectly in tune. People selling the back uni clarinet seem to think there needs to be an adjustment on the low f k e y play the note in tune. I've never had to adjust it on my R-13 it's been perfect ever since I purchased it. The entire War not one note is sharp or flat. It's an older R-13 but it is perfect. And it sounds like a real clarinet not an ancient instrument

R13 is a tad brighter and different bore size. It is slightly less stable, but can play much louder than the Tradition. I play the Tradition, and I love the amazing warmth this clarinet gives. However R13 is better in orchestra overall.

@ew40962 жыл бұрын
Everyone join the bandwagon. Oh my God what a fucking wonderful clarinet sound. Yep, if you are as professional player as this guy, you can give him a recorder and he will make it sound great. Learn to play correctly and your clarinet will have the same sweet sound. Stop being mesmerized by the product, the sound comes from the player's training and experience. I own a Selmer 9 and a 10; I make my own sound and would not trade them for anything. Of course some equipment will make you play better, a good quality mouthpiece, and a proper balanced reed matched to the mouthpiece. The rest, well is just a fucking clarinet.
