Hello Archery Geek, I am French and I give you the meaning of the word uukha The name Uukha is a reference to the uukhaï, a song which encourages the archers and the archers during the firings during the national holiday of Naadam in Mongolia. Homage to the Mongolian arc, source of lessons on the mastery of materials and design. good shots with these limbs. The risers are in carbon monolith, good tools too one suscriber fromFrance

Congrats! Hope you love em! I have mine on two riser set ups. My Hoyt Satori 21" with my Long 40 lbs Uukha's for a 66" set up and I also use them on my 25" Hoyt GMX for a 70" set up. One thing I noticed was that when using Uukha's was that the tiller usually needs to be readjusted due to the different curve profile. That card that came with them is really helpful to help with set up. No matter what riser I put them on, they are a champ. Once you get use to them and then switch to another limb you'll see clearly how different they draw. They are far my favorite limbs and compete with limbs that are twice the price. I too love my budget limbs cause there are a few really good jems out there and I recommend many good ones for my students. Uukhas are the perfect bridge for cost vs quality and many of my intermediate students love them too. Have fun with them this summer!

ZephrusPrime awesome thanks and thanks for the comment I really wish I had gotten the 21 inch satori and not the 19. Hey do you have a recommendation for a set of longbow limbs? I am not really sure what to buy. No worries if not but sounds like you have a ton of experience. Thanks and good shooting!

Very good review. Thank you. I just assume that the 100% carbon limbs you theoretically don’t have to unstring because of the carbon? To unstring is always good but if you shoot every day, this could be a very nice option to save time. I although herd that it is quite tricky to string them. However, I will oder today the SX 100. And as you said. They will last for the rest of my life.

My first of limbs were 24# 70" Fantom's on a Fantom 25" riser. I upgraded to 30# WNS Motive C5's and they are better. Changed my riser to a Chaser Python (7075 Alu) and that's a better setup again, much less vibration. Almost all of the beginners at our club shoot Fantom limbs & risers, excellent gear for when you are starting out with out splashing a lot of cash. Had the chance to briefly shoot some of these Uuhka limbs yesterday and they draw so smooth, better than my C5's. The Ex1's are more expensive than my C5's but my immediate reaction was they are worth it. Going to shoot another members bow on the weekend which is a Xpro 2 27" riser and long Vx1000 limbs, 72" bow, really looking forward to it as I have along draw at 31" and that setup is about three times the price of my current setup so will be great to compare them.

Hi Mick!! Noticed your finger tab may have came loose on your finger as you tighten the rope with your teeth. If it comes loose what i do is take an elastic hair tie the small ones for pigtails and double loop it around your finger and butt it up to your tab rope and quick release button. This gives me a bit more consistant tab placement on my finger so that the tab doesn't ride up my finger as it comes loose.
I bought uuhah’s from Lancaster too. They’ve my favorite bare bow limbs because they just Kick Ass in speed. For Olympic style shooting my Hoyt’s are more accurate and forgiving. Maybe the $800 Uukah limbs are more in line with Hoyt accuracy but I would probably go with the Hoyt Velos limbs for about the same price. For hunting and Uukah limbs Kick Ass 👍

I shot a friends at the club with those limbs at about thirty pounds They were nice but at my age (79) and just getting into bare bow didn't really want to spend too much on at set up. I have been hunting with a compound for years and was ready to try something different I ended up with a Gillo g2 and Wns bamboo core 99.$ limbs. Love shooting it at 30 pounds. Have been shooting a 100 or more arrows a day just about every day. It is a real learning experience. Watching Jake Kaminski on You Tube and he has helped a lot. Don't know if I will get real good at it but sure am having fun. Looking for more stuff on your channel.

Doesn't putting whiskers on the string defeat the purpose of fast limbs?
@ArcheryGeek4 жыл бұрын
No not at all, the lose in speed is unreadable on my chrono. Without the Whiskers you might as well never shoot an ILF for hunting unless you are really really close - the deer would jump and you run the risk of wounding or missing... faster limbs with whiskers are faster then slower limbs with whiskers :)

if you get the opportunity to shoot the limbs with the x-curve, they will blow you away. the "let off" feeling is amazing. It's not actually getting lighter, it's just that the pounds of draw weight per inch get lower as you get closer to full draw. uukha also make a line tailored for 19" models which is slightly cheaper since they only come in 5# increments only downside to the x-curve is that it can be rather loud in comparison to the progressive curve unless you use relatively heavy arrows.

Ha Mick, I upgraded to these exact limbs a few weeks back for barebow on my Mybo Elite 25 inch riser. They are super smooth to pull and have an almost "let off feel" at my 30 inch draw. I definitely had to retune my arrows to match the difference in velocity of my bow, took some time. Brace height will be a factor with your riser also, mine wound up being 9 inches exactly. They are also extremely quiet compared to what I had before too. Keep those porno vids coming.....
@ArcheryGeek4 жыл бұрын
William Jasper Ha! Archery porn is the best :). Thanks for the tip. I am going to start off at 9 inches and leave my arrows full length. I went to micro for outdoor. Just waiting on my Zniper rest to come in so I can start to tune. You are right about sound and the gillo GT also reduces a lot of noise as well. My biggest problem now is that I have NO excuses!!!!!! LOL
@williamjasper65094 жыл бұрын
Mick, If you're even slightly like me when things aren't going so well it's easy to blame "cheap equipment". And yes I know that almost any component associated with MY rig is better than I am, all things being equal. But when you KNOW all you components are top shelf there's no room to look other than one's self, yes. As a side bar I tried to "customize" my grip with epoxy putty and it absolutely destroyed my accuracy. Chipped the stuff off yesterday and my groups are coming back around again, yah. I guess Trial and Error are my middle names apparently.
@matthewcloonan99294 жыл бұрын
@ William Jasper: I'm thinking about these limbs too - just wondering what your arrow spine is? From the little I can find, it seems that a softer spine than normally recommended works best for these limbs....
@williamjasper65094 жыл бұрын
@@matthewcloonan9929 My limbs are 28 pound limbs and with my draw length they come in right about 34 pounds, on my fingers. I'm a Covid archer who picked up a bow to fill in my time while we all sit around in isolation. I am strictly a target archery with less than zero interest in hunting. I shoot Victory Vap arrows with a 700 spine with 120 grain points with pin nocks. Believe it or not going for pin nocks made me have to redo my tune all over again. Today I just got my bare and fletched arrows trying to occupy the same hole on a 5 arrow end. This was a first for me and a real revelation that they really could group this well, at least for me that is. I will through down a proviso in everything I've learned over the last three month or so has been from my readings and or KZbin. So take anything I tell you with a grain of salt since I'm very much a newby, yes.

@@williamjasper6509 thanks & very nice re. revelatory grouping! I've been shooting a tad longer (10 months) and am currently using 36# limbs that are 43# OTF. The Uukha limbs I've ordered are 38# and I'll try some new 500 spine arrows (also moving to pin nocks - thanks for the heads-up re. tune). Also very happy just shooting at targets, very meditative. Good luck👍. Also thanks to Archery Geek for the quality vids & inspiration.

One more thing. Tie a knot on your tab rope so to be very close to your finger , well close to the plastic release rope button this way it stays tight on your finger. Combination of the rope tie and the hair tie you will find the tab less noisy apon release!!!

@@ArcheryGeek Just a bit of advice on combining Uukha Limbs with a GIllo riser - you'll have to sand down the limb pocket. Uukha limbs have narrower pockets than most ILF limbs and Gillo risers have larger limb bolts than most ILF risers. I had to get 100 grit sandpaper and carefully sand the Uukha pocket down a little bit to get them to slide in without having to torque the limbs. Just wrap it around a pencil and take a bit of the varnish off the pocket.

Your limbs are stacking towards the end. If thats the case you need longer limbs. Medium limbs are rated for a 28 inch draw will always stack if you draw past 28 inches. If your draw length is 29 inches you should be shooting a long limb on a 25 inch riser. Thats why you feel like you are hitting a wall toward the back end of the draw. Another thing... your shoulder rotation is way off causing you to really pluck that string.
