This was filmed on April 11th 2019 in Namatanai New Ireland Province.
Called DukDuks the performers dance to the beat of Kundus and bamboo garamuts (percussions) and a choir or male singers for five minutes non stop.
It is a sacred dance performed before locals and government officials during the official launching of the Boluminsky highway in New Ireland Province.

New Ireland Tubuans are a bit more boisterous and active in how they dance if you contrast it with their cousins on the other side of the St George Channel.

Only if we can reseach far back in time, we may find to appreciate the fact that we are one...Melanesian origination is there somewhere. Love the outstanding culture though there are variations to the original one tnkyu lo share om uniqueness...wonderful ❤👍🇵🇬

Original Tumbuans of Namatanai. South Coast of Namatanai. NIPS. The place where tumbuan culture originated and migrated to Rabaul. Tolais originated in Nips.
