How old must a song be to fit the "trad" definition? All "trads" were once new songs. I sure hope this one qualifies to enter the "trad" hall of fame with all the quality artists who covered this Richard Thompson song.

Hes singing it in jig rythm but youre correct that its neither of Irish origin or traditional. Its wonderful though.
