Something really cool about all this is how humble they all are. For example, at 14:45 when you were complimenting the taste of the food, the cooks response was "great pork" referring to the ingredient instead of his technique or anything like that.

17:01 it is a mirror image of our roasted pig or lecheon what we called it and the method all checks down to the crispy skin which I love with pair of rice and maybe soup to cut down the fattiness of that skin is bomb and we have different version of lechon around the country even they stuff that pig with crabs and shrimps for surf and turf meal

Lovely video can't wait to see more. I enjoyed that aspect of seeing other breakfast items apart from the usual ackee and saltfish and calalloo. In jamaica its normal to see items like stew chicken, curry chicken, kidney, liver, cooked down salt mackrel etc offered for breakfast and trust me it sell quick quick

It’s so cool to see how close all Caribbean food is to each other. In PR the bread fruit plate is called verdura or viandas, we usually eat it with bacalao. Also the way the food is prepared. It’s amazing.

It would have been fun to see Mike’s reaction to an authentic Rastafarian menu, since they don’t eat meat, canned foods, dairy, or anything with additives. It’s a vibrant, if difficult to follow, diet, and it started in Jamaica so it’s worth noting I think. But yeah, no meat, no bottled sauces, and lots of fruits and vegetables probably won’t make Mike too satisfied - but they use plenty of spicy peppers.

I absolutely love Jamaica!! Been there twice & longing to go back. The food there is crazy good & all the fresh fruit is amazing. Took a tour on a farm one visit there and it was so much fun. They had a spread of fresh fruit laid out for us after the tour (plus all the fruit we sampled while touring). They even had fresh cherry juice ready for us. Went back to our resort with fruit & sugar cane that the gave us to enjoy in our villa. The people there are so friendly. Man, I sure miss Jamaica.
