Lived in Galway for 2 years..great city but the weather in winter..lot of rain even compared to the east of the country..

We lucked out with great weather while we were there! I can see how a lot of rain would blown in off the ocean. Are you still in Ireland? We can't wait to go back!

Galway city is a university town so not surprisingly it has a young vibe.Even when the students are gone in the summer the city has a party vibe ,with galway races and arts festivals .As regards trad music and irish dancing they are fairly strong and in no danger ,but they are still niche interests that ebb and flow in popularity,so tourists can't expect every pub to have it.

Very true! I guess we can't expect every pub to constantly be playing Irish music, we just love it! 😅 Galway was a great town but we really want to go back to Ireland and see the rest of the country.

I live in Dublin, but always liked Galway. It's awhile since i was over there. Glad you enjoyed your trip. 👍

The red cat lives locally in the Claddagh. Bulmers is available Stateside but it's called Magners. I returned to Galway several years ago after living and working in New York. No regrets.

Aww! I bet she gets lots of love from everyone. ❤ We've seen Magner's before! Should've known it was the same with the similar can design. We would move to Galway in a heartbeat so I don't blame you for ditching New York!

@@marshallandaimee If you ever return I'd highly recommend a day or two exploring Connemara and forget about the Aran Islands, way too touristy. Inishbofin Island is great but a night on Inishturk Island is literally food for the soul.

Never heard anyone talk so negatively about Galway and moan as much as you . There is music (trad) in almost all of the bars there all year around . There is such a thing as the internet where you can look up places to eat ,though most bars do amazing food including seafood which Galway is renowned for . Little research and planning goes a long way .

Hi Martin! Sorry if we came off negatively. We absolutely love Galway! It was one of our favorite places in Ireland. We had great food, music, and drinks. Truly one of our favorite cities in the world.
