As a Chef (who has a house in Cebu) allow me to comment: Coffee looks great, and well done. I leave the dried fish to you, as I said I am married to a Filipina and SHE cooks that all the time and my house smells like it too. Surprised bacon rather than tapa. Eggs look slightly overcooked, rice is always done well as it is such a staple in their cuisine. My wife eats with her hands - in Florida, he he. I think the bananas could be plantain but hard to say over a video. Yet, I know that in the house of Filipinos the pan de sal and the hot dog for breakfast are eaten a lot. Bon Apetit bro'

🐟Eighty three degrees. Dude, how are you not melting in that heat?! 😅 🐟You fit right in with the locals as you're also very smile-y and greet-y. 🐟Just like in Mexico, tipping isn't expected but I do it regardless. I'm sure the server appreciated your tip! Dave Ramsey posted a video today on his thoughts about tipping in America. 🐟Be mindful of how much dried fish you consume - they're laden with salt! I forgot about this, had dried kippers in Edinburgh and ended up with a massive headache. 🐟I challenge you to attempt eating rice with your hands - PRIOR to learning how to do it properly. 🤣🤣🤣

tipping in the philippines is most probably commonly done in instances when you ask someone to do something else beyond what their job is... typically like asking someone on the streets to hold a parking spot so you can maneuver your car in, or asking a delivery guy to carry something somewhere you cant, or when they help you fix your broken down car on a busy street... they don't really ask for tips but it usually is accepted as a sign of thanks.....

17:50 Tipping isn't required. Most fancy restaurants like this one may include it in the final bill. Check your receipt if there's a "service charge" line. Also wait staff salaries aren't contingent on tips. It is encouraged in certain places like your local barbershop.

The key thing to know about good coffee: If you are needing to put something into it to make it drinkable, then its not good coffee. Good coffee is getting hard to find... there is just to much of a demand for it and the supply (for good arabicas) can't meet this demand. So they substitute, say, robustas for arabicas. That's why you need to "put something into it". Find a coffee shop that sells Liberica/Excelso/Barako (grown right there in the Philippines). Bo's used to be good with these beans, but not so much any more. The supply won't meet the demand, so they have gone the route of substituting cheap robusta cultivars. And man, that stuff is nasty. You'll need more than cream to make it palatable. Good luck down there Chris, i enjoy your stuff. Above all, remember, its all a great adventure. Even the hard knocks come with good memories. I hope to be there before the end of the year (stuck here in Canada for the time being).

Nice Gary. Thanks for watching and commenting. One of my many jobs in this lifetime was a roaster in a small coffee roaster in Florida.
