I made a red velvet today with a hand mixer! I have to get me a stand mixer! Today January 23 is our son’s 21st birthday and he loves Red Velvet cakes! I’m going to make the thick glaze like you did! At least I’m going to try to and plan too lol! This was the first time I ever made a cake from scratch! I have to get me a Bundt and Tubing pan to make Pound cakes. I used a big aluminum pan and I just put aluminum foil over the pan so that my sides doesn’t get real dark compared to the rest of the cake and I’m going to let it finish cooking then cool and put the glaze on it! I’m going to use some French Vanilla creamer with the cream cheese, buttery vanilla like the cream bouquet, with the powdered sugar! I hope it’s as good as yours well the way yours look! I’ll keep you informed at let you know how it turned out for this being a first for me!

I made the cake. It is much more dense than a regular red velvelt. Good flavor...a little to heavy of a pound cake for me. I make pound cakes alot, I will stick with my moist cake. Thanks for being such a good cook in the kitchen.

I made pecan pie tarts, Seven Flavor Pound cake (a family favorite), and this Red Velvet cake with a thick cream cheese glaze for our family for Christmas! It was a hit with my family! After eating 2 slices my brother-in-law was watching this cake like a hawk. He took the cake and hid it so that no one else could eat any!! My sister waited until this morning while he was in the shower to cut slices for my mother and one of my sisters. This was an easy cake to make for me. I hadn't made a Red Velvet cake from scratch in a long time. The recipe I had was kinda cumbersome to make. I am the designated dessert person in my family. I will be 60 in a few days God sparing my life. I have been cooking & baking from scratch since I was 9 years old...I realized I got almost 51 years of cooking & baking experience!! WOW!!

Yes it is Larry!!! My mom graduated from Atkins. Me and my Dude#1 went to Atkins, and our youngest son, Dude#2 went to Atkins as well, but by that time it was moved to the "new" school that was built on Old Greensboro Road. The original Atkins building is still on Cameron Avenue, but the school is called WS Preparatory Academy now. And thank you for the cake compliment!🥰😊💚
