I had the great privilege of seeing them live at the Queen's Hall in Edinburgh back in the 90s. I was even lucky enough to meet Karen, she was lovely

I've been looking for this song since 1990. I finally found it. Almost 30 years later....

I'm not quite sure why, but I love Matheson's outfit-especially the skirt. It's so modest!

What a find! The song is called "Puirt a Beul" (literally mouth music). On record it formed part of the opening track of their second album Crosswinds, recorded in 1986. It's the first album to feature fiddler Charlie McKerron. The rest of the line up are Karen Matheson on vocals and a hirsute Donald Shaw on keyboards (but you recognised them anyway..), Marc Duff on bodhrán (he made a fine guest re-appearance with the band in 2014 as part of their 30th celebrations). Shaun Craig plays the bouzouki and Martin MacLeod is on bass. Wonderful stuff!!!
