This is such a beautiful piece of art. It is so sublime that it only makes me reflect on the master pieces that the eastern world has produced for centuries. Unfortunately, in the western world, the media don't provide proper spaces to disseminate beautiful Middle Eastern art. Finally, it is relegated to some areas in museums or to some niche space in some universities or national radios, related to the state in the case of Europe.

Greetings from Turkey. 8:30 It's Şehnaz Longa composed by Santuri Ethem Efendi who was born in İstanbul. When he composed it Syria was still in Turkish lands, so probably this work was being played in Syria as well. So it's nice to see that we still listen to same music.
@thedailymaqam4 жыл бұрын
Yes, it is a shared tradition, arkadas, not just one way. Remember, many of the composers in the Ottoman conservatory at Bab el Ali were Arabs also. Kanuni Omer Effendi, Mulla Uthman Al Mawsili, Hizir Aga are a few of many examples. Likewise, Sh. Ali Al Darwish from Aleppo studied in Turkey and was friends and performed with Tanburi Cemil Bey, Serif Muhiyiddin Haydar etc.

@@fatima.9695 Syria is country of Syrian people and I am supporting territorial integrity of Syria. I'm a friend of yours, not enemy. But our subject is different. Şehnaz Longa was composed by Santuri Ethem Efendi who was born in İstanbul. There is Mısırlı İbrahim Efendi who was born in Aleppo. He has so many works. If we were talking about any of his work, i wouldn't say anything. If you think that it is not Şehnaz Longa of Santuri Ethem Efendi, you may write the name of the work and composer.
