Since childhood, my parents taught us this: Treasure the rice in your bowl, every grain is the result of hard work. Not only rice, I treasure every piece of food. Every minute, there still are starving people in the world.

And here in the states they throw rice at weddings! My parents went nuts when they attended a interracial wedding and they threw rice. They literally started picking them up. 😂 My Dad was like why would they waste food. 😂😂 He came from a very poor family in Vietnam and my mother is from Laos with ancestors. So coming to America was quite a culture shock. 😂😂 Pair papaya salad with pad Thai. It goes well together.

Really liked this video and learned something new. They grow and de-husk the rice exactly the same way as they do in Bangladesh! The equipment looks almost identical! Bangladeshi 'dheki' and 'kula' are the terms. I wish I knew what the Thai words were for those tools. Their rice cakes look different from our common rice cakes though.
