I have a receptacle hitch on the front of my Gladiator under my winch. I put a cargo carrier on the front bumper while hunting and use the winch to ease 200 lb or larger animals up on the carrier. At age 68 , I do not pick up large dead animals anymore

My biggest regret when I bought my truck was getting 2x4. Got stuck this week in South Georgia on that nasty red clay and started preparing a list of recovery items to purchase. Thankfully we had another truck with us that got us out. A hitch winch is #1 on my list for those solo trips! Thank you for this video!!

Happy Easter. I used to have a winch in a basket for my grand Cherokee. Then I got the hidden winch . I have front and rear winches on my Jeep JK . But over the years find it’s just easier to just have front winch and use snatch blocks and the rings to do a reverse winch from behind using an anchor point. My warn winches have been on my Jeep since 2007 and no problem with water intrusion. Great video my friend

I believe if I were to keep a vehicle longer than 2 years I would invest in a front winch and bumper and heavier springs. I believe its still the best way. But for my short term ownership of vehicles this checks all the boxes. and this is easy to lend to a friend for thier vehicle or to take in different vehicles. So its a great set up. But I still believe if you are gonna get stuck often a front permanent mounted winch is the best way to go.

I have a F150 Eco Boost. Hard to get a winch installed the traditional way due to the intercooler placement. Very good work around to enable better self-recovery. Thank you!

Good video. How are you winching from the front? Just put a hook on the thing and let it suspend in the air?
@SamkoTradBow8 ай бұрын
I'm not winching from the front. 9 times out of 10 I want to go backwards rather than forward down here in the swamp. A back winch is more valuable in the swamp than the front. Although I'd love to have a winch on the front too. Given the choice I'd prefer the back winch
