Finally got back to the range after a bit of a health problem and took the first shots with my 50 caliber Traditions Kentucky percussion rifle. Felt great!

I remember shooting round ball and maxi bullets outta my Kentucky until I stripped out the nipple! What a great time. I would like to get a Squirrel gun!

I love my Traditions percussion Kentucky rifle. I shoot round balls with 50 grains of FF Goex and I can plink all day with that load. It is very accurate at 50 yards. I have not tried it at 100 yards yet mainly because that front sight is so difficult for me to see.

So how's the trigger pull? I'm setting my sights on a Kentucky rifle (also a Hawken) and I want to know the trigger pull.

Alex the Hun It’s adjustable, what ever you want it to be.

Good gun but how do u get that rattling out of the trigger
@44gunsmoke6 жыл бұрын
Darius White I may solder a brass bushing in the trigger and fit a spring.

44gunsmoke u should try track of the wolf or Dixie gun works they have better. Quatily stuff and one of there triggers and some of the there brass hardware wear would really bring that gun to life. They even sell better replacement locks made by L&r

This rifle has deep grooves and a slow twist, at 66". It's good, accurate, only for round balls. With 0,490 round ball, patch 0,015, and 50 grains of Swiss 3 FFF black powder is a tack driver. Very accurate.

Mostly what I use is round ball but I also found LEE REAL bullets work well too.

What exactly did you finish your rifle with and how many coats did it take? Thanks!

The retaining spring has not been lost. It is possible that it has fallen into the channel of the ramrod when disassembling the front screw of the lock. I have an equal rifle, because they are manufactured in Spain by Ardesa. Greetings. Saludos desde España.

44gunsmoke I have a traditions hawken but I still really want one of their Kentucky rifles. Has the lock on your flinter held up well?
