Harden made it as a “legacy” act.

All-star isn't about winning. From Middle school, high school, and up, it's been how good you are as a player. Even MVP isn't all about record, it should be the best player in the league that is also the most valuable to your team. You should be able to get it on a 41-41 team if without you, they are 10-72. Winning and talent are separate, but they will go hand in hand in great systems. There are so many players in history that we don't speak of in the top just because they were on bad teams. If Stockton and Malone played all their playoff series with the exact same stats, but their opponents played different and they won 8 championships they would be top 5 players in everyone's eyes especially beating the Bulls. Stats are stats regardless of outcome. I'm a Shaq fan. Tell Shaq his domination wouldn't have mattered because he was on the Washington Bullets. That he would lose All-stars under his resume. That's not fair. You can't control coaches or teammates. Only ball dominate players even have that option sometimes.

He definitely is subbed. The All-Star game is not about the team wins. It’s about how great a player is compared to others. Trae is averaging 22ppg and 11apg as a point guard. He should be starting in the all star game as the point guard. It can’t be about winning because one player isn’t the reason why a team wins. There’s no reason he’s not at least on the team. His percentage is low and he’s leading the league in turnovers but neither of those has ever been a deciding factor of a hit not being an all star when they averaging at least a 20-10 double-double.

Kenny is so wrong because Trae does not have the best stats for point guards in the east. His stats are not better than Lillards or Brunson's. Yes he has more assist but 11 assist doesn't look too good with damn near 5 turnovers and he only shoots 40% from the field. Leading one stat doesn't make you the better point guard. Lillard 25-4-7 45% fg 3 turnovers, Brunson 25-2-7 49% fg 2 turnovers and Young 22-3-11 40% fg 4 turnovers. Last but not least, both NY and MIL are playoff teams while ATL is below .500.

Both Lillard & Brunson are surrounded by significantly better talent & playmakers. Those guys aren't even the best players on their respective teams this year and both have at least one teammate who commands a double team. Besides, Lillard averages 3 turnovers per game despite averaging 4 fewer assists. Brunson takes better care of the ball than both, but he too averages 4 fewer assists per game. The Hawks don't have much great talent as it is, so when a player goes down it really hurts the team.
