Never ever plug a trickle charger/maintainer into the power source before you clamp it to the battery. You can get a power surge that can blow out your main computer board etc.

In which mode should we charge GEL batteries?

First of all you should never connect the charger to mains power before the battery due to risk of surge. Also you should connect negative before positive. Electricity is dangerous. If not sure please use Google and find out before working with it as you risk damage to your health and property.

You connect positive first then negative, that way there is less chance of a spark

@@djhatstand7312 In the instructions it says to connect to the battery then connect to the mains and switch on. That way there is least possible spark that could be dangerous near petrol fumes.

I have this charger. It works fine but after a few years the battery is finished. It might be because this charger keeps the battery at over 14V. I think this demolishes the battery.

be aware, if defect , forget any warranty it doesn't exist.( even new 3 months old ) And no reseller will help you. my own experience with ultimate speed - does not maintain the charge !

Bit of a disaster really as it won't recognise a flat battery to start charging it! Really only usefull to top up. Had I known this I would not have bought it!

This is only first time (if try battery). Or when somehow battery has been boiled and then tops of the plates are try then water can be added.

Ma la batteria la posso caricare dal suo alloggio con i cavi attaccati o è meglio staccare i cavi e caricare la batteria direttamente? Ho letto in giro che il cavo negativo andrebbe sulla carrozzeria interna al vano motore ed il polo positivo direttamente alla batteria della macchina.. Cosa mi sapete dire? Grazie!!😊

most chargers say disconnect the battery. I have never done this purposely and never had a problem.. If you don't know your radio or other equipment codes then you are stuck with non working electronic equipment!

@@nietbepalen If your battery has less than 7.5v it won't recognize the battery and won't charge it. Easy fix for this is to use some jumper cables and connect it to another car battery for 5 to 10 minutes. Than reconnect the battery to your charger, it will start charging.
