An amazing psychedelic mystical masterpiece which mirrored the aura of the times, along with Paper Sun, and The Beatles - Tomorrow Never Knows, Baby You’re a Rich Man, Lucy in the Sky, I am the Walrus and Within You Without You.

Yes, they were buying music. Something that today's rap/hiphop/techno-braindeads can't fathom. And our generation thought parents in the 50's were idiots mocking rock'n'roll - even they probably listened to other greats like Glenn Miller, Henry Mancini and Nat King Cole.

I don't mean to insult anyone or any generation, I found the song quaint: not offensive in any way...And I actually like some of the music from the psychedelic era. I just thought this one was funny. Surely it wasn't meant to be serious. I mean...Someone tripping in the park and waking up with dew on their coat. What do I take from that> OK. So, I love Leonard Cohen who was probably around at the same time. Just coz his lyrics are so clever and evocative. In recent times, the only one who comes close is Joustene Lorenz.... t@@adamtzsch

The only part of the song I didn't get was the 100 tin soldiers stood on my shoulder bit. The rest made perfect sense to me as a seven year old 😂

When You like psychedelic music you should listen to Kula Shaker (formed in 1995). They play a fusion from britpop, psychedelic rock with indian influences in the 1960s style.
