My first concert was Traffic at the Arie Crown Theatre in Chicago in January, 1972 - same musicians as we see/hear here. I was in high school and did not drive yet. When my dad picked us up after the show, he noticed the smell of marijuana on our clothes and could only smile and ask if we had enjoyed the concert. We had, even if our seats had been as far from the stage as Boston is from New York. This music is burned into my brain (in a good way).

Now we understand when the old timers used to talk about the "Good old Days" and we thought old man you're crazy....until we got old and realized it is crazy...along with everything else concert tickets are crazy priced because these artists can't sell albums anymore so they have to tour and sell expensive tickets because that's the only way they can make money

Mellow. Jazzy. Beautiful. Deep lyrics. Steve Winwood and his band mates always will have a special place in music history. Steve Winwood in that Neil Young icon club. Huge impact on music. True art.

I think this entire album was etched into my brain by the time I left mom's womb. If that didn't do the job, hearing it, repeatedly, on the tape deck in my old man's car did it.

I saw Traffic at the Chicago Auditorium Theater on Congress during their John Barleycorn Must Die Tour. I couldn't believe that they made seats that high up! The concert was fantastic. The audience wanted them to play Low Spark, the band wanted to finish with more of the Barleycorn music. There was no way that was going to happen... the audience got their way.

This was what music was like back in the day. You had a band like Traffic that was not the biggest band around but still jam packed with master musicians. Today that is not the case. The talent pool is shallow today.

Just south of Kansas City in '76 and picked up an older guy and young girl hitchhiking North - this song was playing on KY102 and the older guy said that was a supergroup but I'd never heard of Traffic - he was right!

Saw a lovely Steve Winwood interview. He and bandmates rented an old house in the middle of nowhere to write. He visited the house for the interview.. it was more bittersweet than he imagined it could be. What a lovely man. Ps: Steve is one of the only musicians with his original 60s 70s voice. There's a vid of him singing this song at piano, or is it *Dear Mr Fantasy*?lol.
